Had no problem getting my rear struts out. I just cracked them with the torque wrench.

Not sure about Boge, but surely for that price you won't get much better bang for buck - especially considering they're going to be a brand new set of struts replacing your 10yr old ones in the car now!

Just found my left rear shock from the eBay purchase leaking oil... :dash2:
Only fitted them less than two months ago.... Not such a good deal after all.

Just got back from my second service - was meant to be an 'Interval 2' service but apparently I hadn't done enough KM's, so they downgraded it to a minor service w/ fluid/filter change... Anyways, almost had the car for 12 months now and these are the 'issues' I was advised of today... 1) LH & RH Rack Boots Split - they said they could fix for $250 + $66 for a Wheel Alignment, and suggest it be seen to ASAP. Any suggestions on 3rd party parts/repairers that could possibly do this job for less?? 2) Rear Lateral Link Bushes Split - They said this was not a priority and they would monitor..... Any suggestions for comparable parts -> whiteline etc...?? 3) Different tread pattern on rear tyres - So they changed with the fronts which are Bridgestones; less than 1yr old. Subaru said it's better to have different tread patterns on the front than on the back, so that's why they changed them........ Bridgestone didn't mention anything when they moved them to the back, so what's the issue with different tread patterns on the rear?? :scratch_one-s_head:

I run with 1 Nankang, 1 Bob Jane all-rounder, 1 Firestone and 1 re-tread.

Too many brand names there mate, just get 4 diff patterned re-treads. That way you'll have a tyre for every surface....

I don't know Jase, it's not like it was desirable to have different tread patterns, but if it was the case then having them on the front was better than having them on the back.....
I still have no idea what that means though.....

I guess they are referring to the different levels of grip caused by having different tread patterns. Generally you put the tyres with the best traction to the front as most of the braking and all of the steering is done there. Different tread patterns on the front may cause the car to pull to one side under heavy braking. Sounds to me like they're making up a story to match the work performed.
