Well after driving with the KSB751 diff lock kit all I can say is that my car now has a loudish diff whine. Viscous LSD whine, like my old mans Bathurst Cooper S. But with his car you couldn't turn hard in 1st gear........at all without a hop. I do get some nice inside wheel drag at slow intersections, with some odd looks because of it, but not enough. Plated FTW!
If anyone has the diff whine kit let me know how much whine you get.

Also does anyone think this is a good idea? KSB750

I draw the line at the diff bushes and the subframe lock kit. A friend of mine had installed these, and although he did appreciate the little bit it helped, he said it detracted from the overall feel, and has told me to steer clear of these. Being and driven the car a few times, I agree with him. Too much for a road car IMHO. They have their place on track cars, however.

Could someone please tell me what a plated diff means? Where I come from it would mean a mini or full spool fitted to the diff. As in both rear wheels always turn at the same speed.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

A LSD with a clutch plated centre.

In terms of performance, they're the most desirable in motorsports applications..

I'm sure you're familiar with other forms of LSD Jason.
Suretrac - service free, but as soon as one wheel is in the air, the one on the ground looses traction. Next most desirable to 'plated'.
Viscous - A gentle, often slow responding LSD. Least desired, but better than an open centre, and most often is what is included with cars from the factory with a marketed LSD.

Like a Ford 9" then?
Clutch plates from the friction material.

This is what I love about automotive terminology, at least 97 meanings for the same thing!!!!!!!!
Drives me up the bloody wall some days.

Cheers Alex.

Hey guys well.....I think its about time for an update. I have not done anything for a while but this morning I turned on the heater only to get a nice waft of coolant. Turned it off and the smell went, back on, smell back. So my heater leaks (fork yeah!). Anyway how do I get to it. Dash out? My old 944 had a leaky heater and I had to pull the dash but it had no airbags to deal with.

yea its a dash out job mate. airbags dont hinder getting it out in any way just make sure you disconnect the negative leg first...

haynes manual/other service manuals will guide you exactly how to get it out.

I did this job on my previous Gen2. Not overly difficult, just time consuming. Airbags are not a concern, just make sure your battery is disconnected before starting the job.

Cheers Mark. I think I might get Dave to help with it. He says 15mins to get dash out. Ghetto Dave, he is always a laugh.
