where the hell do i buy sawdust from? Im looking for a cheap kid friendly ground cover to put down around the trampoline in our backyard. We've currently got wood chip, but it hurts like fork to walk on bare footed. We were originally thinking artificial turf, however its simply out of our budget. Ive got about 50m2 to cover.
any other cheap solutions?

Sig worthy.

Im thinking shavings might be open to blowing away, or at least around.

Sig worthy.

@Brett: I would suggest reconstituted rubber padding for around a tramampolamine. There is a place off Stock Rd that sell it. Various colours, and lasts forever, it's the gear you see in Maccas playgrounds, etc.

Had a brewer in from LC today. He thought my "Ohaiyogasiumus" line was hilarious.

Dude, I 'skip' dive at Carpet Stores every now and then, well, at my mate's Carpet store. I managed to score enough of that industrial playground rubber mat (10mm thick, designed specifically for use at school playgrounds) to pretty much line the whole floor of my garage. Might be worth vandalizing a local school playground with enough for your needs, so that they have to replace it (burn rude words in it) then keep an eye out for who replaces it, go to their skip and take it away. Flip it over of course :D

There are 2 kinds. One is sharper and kinda like oversized splinters.. if that makes sense. Anything loose will blow around.

On the flip side, that rubber would be a Posted Image'ing hotplate in summer!

Had half a tree fall over in the storm yesterday. Right ontop of the fence dad and I built 12 months ago!

Spent the last few hours of sunlight last night in torrential rain getting the weight off the fence and repairing it so the dog can't escape.

Tore the fence apart!

Posted Image

All good?

Nope.

Turns out the rest of the tree was counting on that half to keep itself standing. So in the middle of the night, it decided to give way!

Posted Image

This one landed partly on our fence again and partly on the neighbours driveway... Well, they couldn't leave this morning without chopping it up!

We now have 4 piles of timber and foliage to dispose of. Will have to get a mulcher out this week sometime...

All done now! Perspective is hard to see but that pile on the left is insanely huge!!!

Posted Image

Can see the 4th pile top right which was on the neighbours drive.

Also, the root system is crazy! Will have to poison it somehow to get rid of it all.

The only real damage. Pool fence broked :(

This reminds me.

I want a new line trimmer next summer. Bent shaft or straight? I want one of the "multi tool" style ones so I can get a hedge trimmer attachent.

I was looking recently and found from having a hold of the display units at Bunnings that most straight shaft units are heavier than curved shaft, and the majority of curved shaft units seemed to have the ability to swap out hedge trimmers, chainsaws etc...

Also found that after much advice for me to get a straight shaft for my height (6'3"), the straight shaft units weren't that long and I still had to bend from the waist quite considerably to operate it. Kills my back as I have a history of a bad/pinchy ciatic nerve.

Homelite curved shaft unit from Bunnings ~ $129 looked to be a go-er for a budget unit, also being that the Ryobi attachment add-ons are compatible with it.

Ended up fixing our 15yo trimmer and saving the cash for now. Well, until it breaks again and I crack the sads with it and chuck it down the driveway. lol.

Haha, I love that your first post on a car forum is in the lawn mowing thread. Nice work :)

Thanks for the tips! I was thinking straight because of the extra length but looks like that doesn't make a difference! Thanks for sharing your findings!
