Photos of the new hotmix as promised, I know it's hard for one man to get excited about another man's driveway.

The Outblack is just dying to get out there...

Also, I think we could almost rename this thread? Manly Thread or something similar was what I was thinking in light of the James May article posted in the GT this morning.
Cheers,
Nik

Haven't read the article yet but I reckon we could, it's sort of become a handyman thread anyway.Hi,

Cupboards are all fixed in but benchtops aren't secured yet. Still a fair bit to go but man it is such an improvement to what it was!
Sorry for blury pics. Was a difficult time of day to take them!

FIL's job today got cancelled so he came around and fixed the benchtop in place and put most of the cupboard doors on.
I came home from work and scrubbed the whole thing down. It was filthy! Chemicals gave me a throbbing head which is still going...4 hours later! But she is looking schmick!
Draw runners have to be made, backboard to be made up and stuck on (see mismatched cupboard backing in pic #4), skirting has to be put back on, plumbing and electrics connected, then tiling work has to be done for the backsplash. Maybe another day or two over the next 2 weeks and she'll be up and running!
Then onto the bathroom, a few things in the main bedroom and a splash of paint over the whole thing then she'll be as good as new

The no outside wall bathroom

The wooden sinks:
Spotted Gum left pic, Tallowwood right (the cap piece round the top of the lining boards is brush box)

My backyard when I was a boy:

Dad liked his stainless exhaust so much he bought one for the kitchen sink:

Another coffee table by Buzz(pic looks funny, it is same size both ends in real life):

Blackbutt and "Birdseye" Grey Iron Bark (fairly rare grain, used to be sort after for bridge making as it's supposedly stronger)

Think that's bout it

Looks like a beautiful property Buzz. Are they retired?
Cheers mate, it truly is beautiful out there... one of those places where you can forget bout everything and feel like your in a different world. The rainforest is a remnant of "The Big Scrub" so there heaps of old palms and shit that make it feel surreal. Their property is also on sacred male only Aboriginal grounds (male initiation and Medicine Man test) and is home to a "Falling Spirit" that protects it.
There's a waterfall bout 20m high that only runs when it rains and apparently the medicine man used to have to jump and if they survived then they were considereed magic and a Medicine Man.
Nah, not retired yet. Getting close (Mum 54, Dad 53), Mum's retiring in 12mths, and Dad's gonna semi-retire then.

Plumbing hooked up, taps connected, tiles installed (still yet to be grouted), new draw runners made and draws modified to fit.
The whole place really needs a splash of paint. One step at a time.

I'm a little concerned bout your undersink plumbing, looks very horizontal after the trap (u-bend).
*EDIT*
I did this one in our bathroom, it take ages for the water to drain.

I was gonna replace it with a flexi-pipe so I could cut the vert lower but haven't got round to it yet.
Being the kitchen sink it will prob get alot of crap down it (fats etc) which may sit on that flat bit.
