OK, so i thought id put up a bit of a story of my other interests.

Bought this little beast in June 04 for my first car when i got my P.s. but i decided that it needed a respray and it all started from there!....

What ive done so far.

Outside
Stripped colour coat of paint.
Removed surface rust.
Dent repair
Paint (sort of, screwed up some of it so its in a state of "being fixed")

Interior
Full retrim in a tannish vinyl, still in progress
New head lining
New carpet
Custom dash

Subframes/Suspension/Brakes
Fully stripped and rebuilt subframes
All new bushes throughout
Adjustible hi-los
full reco brake system
8.4" disk brakes
12" Minilite copy wheels

Motor
1275cc motor bored out to 1340cc
Unleaded head
Road/Race cam
Electronic ignition conversion in lucas dizzy
HD Race clutch
Rebuilt Gearbox
Fully reco motor components.
Maniflow lcb extractors
RC40 Muffler

After putting all that work and money in i have lost the drive to finish her for now so its in a bit of a sad state! :(

So here are some piccys!

Mate this is awesome! I plan to restore an old mini one day! This only makes me want to get into it sooner! Looks like there are 3 different cars there? 2 clubmans and the morris? They all yours?

Needs new clutch and rego. But worth about $20k!! Owned by some old guy who cant drive it anymore i really want to buy it off him!

wow, the mini looks awesome dude, very nice build up

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I should just convert to single, right?

Nice work so far! Now stick a VTAK motor in there! I'm not a fan of a car that shares its engine oil with the gearbox.... chip a gear or two shifting gears, and its ALL OVER!

Man i love mini's. My brother had a Clubman restored and done up in Bean Green, awesome car, i wanted it as my first car but he refused to sell it to me, he said the engine was fugged (my brother is not good with cars though) anyway a month later i found out he sold it at a garage sale for forking $400 :@ i could have stabbed him! 6 days later the new owner was driving it around... all he did was strip the motor and do a service and it was running fine. i really hate the fact my brother sold it :( one day i hope to also buy and restore a mini. (my dad's uncle has 2 sitting in a shed in ballarat one is completely stripped and the other donor)... has been sitting there for 9 years.. might have to have a word to him :P

I Was gonna put a 4agze (i think it is) From a jappo starlet turbo in there, good for about 150hp atw. but not anymore. 1 turbo car breaking things is enough. The motor i have should be good for about 80hp which is pretty spirited in a car which the heaviest thing is the motor!

This car will now be a cruiser, so no chipping gears! Though there is a "strainer" over the oil pickup but i dont know how effective that would be.

Thanks for all the comments guys :)

And codeburner, as for your bro selling the mini for $400, What a fool. big loss on his part. id be pissed off too!

Nice job mate. Red with a white top is always a good look for 'em.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Really great stuff. Fantastic job, winner.
My first car was a Mini Cooper that I got for my 21st with which I rebuilt and won the Mt. Cooper concourse in '99. My old man has had over 300 of the things. A couple of Bathurst racers and some nice ones. I currently have this thing in a shed down the coast. A Mk.1 Cooper S.

My father-in-law [to be] used to race them too. Somewhere between mid to late 70s he was the NSW champion or something! Used to win a fair bit! I love looking through his car photo albums.

Sorry, I'm a closet Toyota nut Adam, and the urge to correct you is strong!

Starlet never ever came with a 4AGZE, or any A series motor. I'm skeptical if a 4A would actually fit, to be honest. They're a fairly sizable four pot.

But what you're thinking of, (and what I've seen before) is the Starlet GT 4E-FTE (E series engine).

Here's an example

I'm sure you've also seen the examples in the UK that run around with Honda 1.8L motors.... tubular chassis however....(DO IT!)

Alex you are right :) my brain is mush at the best of times :empathy3: Thanks for all the posative comments guys :) the colour is a velocity red pearl off the mazda 6's and 3's im not sure what year. and the white roof is going to be white basecoat with a goldish pearl over the top. The pics really dont do justice to the paint! Aek, id paint your car, But i hate body work, with a passion ;)... though just a respray would be quick :P i cant even finish my own cars so i think taking on your daily would soon make me some enemies!! Stay tuned for some moke pictures too :D

How do you go about sourcing parts? Like little things... Trim Badges Mirrors Etc You know, finishing touches! Will this be a restoration? Or more a personal thing? Always love a good build thread! p.s: 4EFTE lubs j00
