DIY - Changing Air Filter

They didnt do it for me but quoted me $42* for next time.
Wanting to do it myself, I took a trip to Supercrap and picked one up for $34.95*. That is a huge saving of $7.05 - plus the complete satisfaction of doing something yourself...priceless
Tools required:
-10mm socket (or any old spanner will do)
-New air filter (Product number A1426)
-A spare 5 mins
Walkthrough
-Here is your air box where inside, lies your air filter.
-There are 3 clips and one bolt holding it together. Undo the clips with your fingers and use 10mm socket to undo bolt
-Undo the air feed pipe from the air box. This requires your hands and minimal force
-What you'll be left with
-This is why you need to change air filters
-Clean all the crap out of the box and throw the old filter away
-Open up your new filter
-Put it in place
-Put it all back together
*Prices may vary

which way does the filter go?
If you force it in as hard as possible, it will go in anyway you want

Srsly tho, if someone needs a DIY on how to change the air filter they probably shouldn't be!

Start by not trawling up old threads, but sticking your head under the bonnet, and having a crack yourself. Use a little intellect and logic, and you could surprise yourself.

So long as it's on topic I don't see why replying to any topic, no matter how old it is, is a bad thing.

ssikness666, a tip for new members...
Dragging up an old thread, or responding to any thread to poke at people, historically speaking, has not been a good way to make friends on this forum. Contribute to the DIY with something constructive, a question related to it instead of being argumentative.

People need to use the search bar before starting a new thread about something that been covered a thousand times

I think people are digging up old treads because more then 50% of the threads that have been posted lately is just unnecessary garbage.

Good point mate. Digging up an old thread is fine in my book. As long as its on topic.
