Such a clean outback shiv, I love it
Time to de-lift it.
That would defeat the purpose of all his recent mods

First of all - thanks very much Fongy for this exceptional work you've done

Fongy spent a good 3hrs+ photographing the car in many locations. He then went away and spent a couple weeks touching up the images on his computer to bring these amazing results you see today. He's a real perfectionist, and you notice this when you meet him for a shoot. He has a vision from the onset, and is very precise in composing the photo EXACTLY as he wants it. Clearly, he has a very keen eye for detail. It also helps that he has a genuine passion for what he does...
All I can say is to anyone even considering getting some proper professional automotive photography done, do please contact Fongy. I couldn't recommend him highly enough! I really do wish I had met Fongy before I sold my Liberty. He does some incredible things with the camera (textbook Asian-squat) and works miracles with photoshop (trust me, my car is not that clean and unblemished in real life, LOL).

This Saturday I headed North to Stockton Beach for a day on the sand dunes and had an awesome time under clear skies. I couldn't convince any of the club members to come with me this time so I ended up taking my folks with me as I've been meaning to take them up there for a while now. They absolutely loved it.
Most of the footage was captured using a GoPro HD Hero II mounted on the car using a suction cup mount. You can see it gets the colours really well.
As usual, I did need to pull over and let it cool down after about an hour of traveling with the direction of wind (so no air going in the front). So we sat back, grabbed lunch from the fridge and stretched our legs for a bit.
On the video you'll see me having two visibly pathetic attempts at getting up a mild sand dune and failing. It looks pathetic, but the cause for this was an aggressive approach angle that was required at the bottom of the dune. Now the Outback has a large front overhang (not blaming the car as it was never designed for this!) so as a result, I had to brake before the dune (the last thing you want to do!) because the car was bottoming out and hence I didn't have enough puff to get it to the top.
The impact (caught on camera) was not bad at all. I was surprised it cracked so easy but then I remember it was fractured from a previous incident which is why it let go so easily.
Apart from that, the Subie performed very well as always, putting the larger 4WD's to shame by carrying a load of people + luggage and traveling solo forging its own tracks in the sand. I saw many loaded up 4WD's struggling in the soft sand where the Outback was light on its feet (despite being heavier than I've ever had it before!) and making it look easier.

The money shot (my money going down the drain, haha..)

Nah that isn't Araluen. Its Stockyard Creek Track, an easy 4WD track that runs off Wollombi Rd in the Lower Hunter. Araluen is an amazing area. Really wanna go to the nearby Deua National Park some time in a 4WD....
Good! Maybe she'll hear me and drag you over to the East Coast to go to Birkenhead Point again. This time you can remember to tell me when you go there!! Still sore about that hahaHi Shiv,
SHHHH! Alisha might hear you!!!
Cheers,
Nik

Big things happening to my Outback this week. It'll be getting a 1"inch spring lift. I'm going with Heavy Duty King Springs all round. Its not a massive lift, but it will make a difference.
Because the H6 model came with self-leveling rear suspension, the shocks will need to be changed as well. I'm getting KYB GR-2's which have very good reviews online. Apparently they shit on the OEM shocks....
Last week I got 4x brand new Yokohama all-terrain tyres. Really chunky rubber with an amazing tread pattern.

Also, here's a video of the Outback in action using my GoPro:

New suspension this Wednesday. Looking forward to it
