So met up with Lyndon last night to see if the stock Gen 2 system fit. It was no where near, all the hangars didn't line up, nor was it 100% mateable with my 3" dump. Cheers to Lyndon for letting me try it, and drop off pick up after hours. Legend.

So I bit the bullet an booked it in to a zorst shop tomoz. Driving out at 9:30 to Gladesville Quickfit (My mate with his insane wrx got his car there, highly recommended apparently.

Paying $900 - $1100 for a full mild steel painted heatproofed black mild steel mandrel bent 3" system, with a $400 cat and a big oval 3" straight through muffler with a single 3" tip.

I'll chuck some pics up tomoz. This is the absolute last thing that needs to be done now. Hell looking forward to driving it.

Also, snapped this up at the workshop on my iPhone.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Nice mate.

I like how when you need something done, you get it done right the first time.

I guess this means she'll be rockin for Sunday?

Yeah mate, she'll be good to go fingers crossed.

I believe in built not bought, and do it once, do it well.
Whilst it's more expensive, and tiring, it's much, much more rewarding doing it yourself.

Cheers,
Shazza

Spot on Sh'Bang

I've learnt that the hard way a few times, fortunately with nothing too drastic (Exhibit A - Eonon) but knowing the end result will be 1000x better for it is now enough motivation for me!

Looking forward to seeing/hearing it!

How did the manual conversion go? Was there much to it? No problems?

Took about 1hrish, out of the whole conversion.

Unbolt gearbox, bolt new one in, insert clutch pedal and cylinder, bleed clutch, skids.

Shazza

How much do you reckon it cost? Automatic is so bloody boring, I have more fun in my friends manual barina on friday nights than I do going from 1,2,3 to D. :sarcastic:

Nick - If you can locate the parts, you could prob get away with it for about $2k or less. Depending on what parts you use. You will need a manual gearbox crossmember too, as the auto one won't fit.

Shivus - Cheers man. I'm looking forward to the weekend. Won't be going to Hooters I don't think, I don't have any cash left over from all this stuff. Hahaha.

Cheers,
Shazza

With the price of Gen3's these days it would be more cost effective selling yours and buying a manual...
Taking all your goodies off first though to re-mod the new one :P

here's a big tip for you. get rid of the plastic BOV if its still there (can't really see that well in the pics).

I ran one just after my old conversion and it leaked like a mofo.

if you get an my99/00 top mount aftermarket bov adapter piece and place it in reverse with some hose you can run stock metal BOV from 99-00 which are bulletproof.

Or run no BOV.

No moving parts.

No worries.

Ahh, thanks Alexxx. Yeah its just running the stock black bosch one that sits just undsr the cooler. To be honest, I was thinking of just grabbing one of those adjustable plumb back turbosmart jobbies. I had one before and it never leaked. Won't be for a while yet though.

Shazza

lol, that sounds hektik!!! you should keep it that way.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?
