Seriously considering building a 2.5L bottom end. Will my V3 top end bolt straight on?

Just throw a 207 bottom end on with a bigger turbo :P

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

I think it's fairly self explanatory that it's not as simple as bolting in a new block and a turbo and then going for a drive.

I think it's fairly self explanatory what they say about assumptions...

Hahaha. I think its the little LEDs (Handbrake warning, ABS warning, Indicators) that are causing the issues, not the Big ones (That illuminate the speedo.)

I'm guessing the extra current draw might be causing it?

Shaz,
LEDs draw LESS current. A lot less.

Also, being a diode they allow current to pass in one direction only. They are polarity sensitive (ie. Wont work if wired up backwards).

If there is somting in the wiring that feeds back through one of the dash globes, this is lost with the LEDs.

WTF was wrong with the standard dash illumination anyway?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

A regular DC globe won't work with flipped polarity either will it?

An incandecent globe (normal globe) will work either way.

It was too dull. Could barely see it at night. Checked the polarity with a test light, works either way.

Pulled out all LEDs, and replaced with normal globes. Problem still there. Its bizarre. Replaced the 4 main cluster lightings with LEDs, but changed all the warning lights, and indicators back to standard.

Basically, the car idles at around 800rpm. When you pull the handbrake up, the idle will increase to around 1100rpm, before slowing going back down to 800 again. Release the handbrake, the RPMs drop to about 200, then upto around 500, back down to 200, then back up to 800 where it holds steady again.

Also noticed when crusing along, car is kinda surging. Only surges when holding at x rpm. Accel and Decel is fine, just when its at x rpm it does it. Have taken both postive and negative off battery, and cable tied together to drain all power. Will leave it overnight for a full ECU reset and see how we go tomorrow.

If that doesn't work, I'll take it upto my mates work, plug the scanner in and have a look see to see whats going on.

Cheers,
Shazza

Dude.

Don't reset the battery without reading the god damned error codes first!!!!!!!!

Check alternator with a multimeter.

Do stuff you can do yourself first, before running for the scanner.

My bet: Unrelated.... AFM or IACV.

Probs a bit overdue for an update.

So I went and picked up a set of low km Bilsteins from Matt (StiLib - Legend) to replace my KYB shocks which are, I would imagine, have at least 150k Kim's on them. I installed them according to the pic below, and haven't noticed much difference.

Amidoinitright?

In addition to this, I've also got a Whiteline 24mm rear adjustable swaybar, and a 22mm front Cusco swaybar, both with new bushes. I've also got some Whiteline FSB links, rear RSB links, camber bushes for rear arms, some lateral arms, new bushes all through the suspension.

Looking at machining up some 10-15mm spacers to increase the track a little bit once the suspension is in, just to allow a more aggressive look, and more grip.

Still chasing a slight hesitation issue, but I do have some avenues to search thanks to a few of you blokes, so I'll let you know how that goes.

More pics to come.

Cheers,
Shazza

Hahahaha.

What can I say, I had a change of heart.

I'm not mad enough to spend my entire salary on this car. Not yet, anyway.

That seems ok? You should feel a massive difference with them installed like that!

If they were installed under the car (pfft who does that?) how could you show everyone that you have billies?
Now you just have to grab a strut out and give that knowing wink of "ive got billies mafarker!"
