You could also chop the flange (hehe) off your old headers (if your not going to keep/use them again) and use them as "spacers" to get another 10mm or so clearance.

Thats a good idea! it'd be easy as to make some, just need to make sure the studs are long enough. if not their not hard to replace. i'd put gaskets between them aswell.

glad you went down the UEL route rather then trying to skimp a few $ for something that only sounds half as good!

They are long enough, and I put gaskets between the lot (4 all up) but used exhaust paste just to make sure.

And I took my car to berklee where i got my exhaust done in the first place and the bloke said NOT to wrap the headers as they will rust/corrode and the wrap will also go to sh1t. But I still want to get rid of the tinny noise from them. Don't particularly want to pay to get them ceramic coated.
He is going to heat the header that's close to the swaybar and hitting when I decelerate and turn right so that it shouldn't hit. He said $50 for that.

Anyway I'm still very happy with the UELs.

Hey Guys just reading this thread....
I am interested in making my car sound better with that more boxter rumble,
but i dont want the loudness factor with a cannon etc,
so would UEL Headers do the trick without being loud and noisy,
As a i do a lot of highway kms to and from work and dont want that high pitch noise the whole way.

Any help will be appreciated... cheers

Yeah stay away from MRT anyone who has half a brain does.. Yeah all mufflers are different. Talk to your exhaust shop they'll reccomend a sports muffler then put another resonater to keep it at a nicer level.
