Thanks for the tip.
Will do adam  :)

but uh what is a tether? :P

What do you tether the camera too on the outside of your car?

Can it be removed?

Ended up going with the 64GB Lexar 600x listed on the GoPro website - $99 posted.

I've researched and heard a few bad things with SanDisk and GoPro's (Maybe that's why GoPro has them 'out of stock')

U'll probably find the Sandisk one that play up arent class 10 and bigger than 32gb. When I was on the hunt for a few different mounts I went to Camzilla in Lindfield and was having a chat about the sd cards... He said hes tried different brands, different classes and different sizes and found that SanDisk class 10 32GB had no problems...

As for the tether depends where you mount the camera...

If you mount it on the side of the car, i usually link a couple of traces and do a girth hitch to either a door handle or anything I can attach it to... If i cant I run it inside the car... U can try getting mini suction cups and run the trace through them but dont go for cheapies...

I've used my mirror, Windscreen wiper, anything under the bonnet, pass it through the boot, roof rails... e.t.c. Just takes some practice in mounting it! :)

This is taken with a GoPro Hero 3 Silver from the P&O cruise I went on in Feb last yr to Vanuatu... was the 2nd day/night start 15-25m swell 200km winds ... If it wasnt for someone stupid doing a midnight crazy jumped from the 7th level hand rail in the atrium for a trapeze rope some 5 metres away and completely missing it crashing on the 5th level floor (and lived) we would have had 2 days of rough seas n high winds... We had to head back towards QLD so a chopper could come get him.  The mrs and I had just walked out of a comedy show and seen this guy running and jumping off, we thought it was part of show then we seen he was on the floor not moving... Was pretty scary!

Well this is waking up in the morning to just after lunch and just before dinner... It was like a ghost ship!

Guys.

Is the black really worth the extra money over the silver? I won't be going too crazy with movie making.

Cheers

I'm in the same boat. Although I do a fair bit of night driving. I think the Black edition has better low light adaptation?

Pretty sure all GoPro's are poor at low light.

Heres a comparison chart..

http://gopro.com/pro...n-hero3-cameras

JB HI-FI said they'll do a BLACK for $509.

I don't think it's too much more for a lot more features, personally I hate the feeling when I didn't spend that little extra and miss out.

After researching, I think it's worth getting a super high quality card. I only trusted the GoPro website in the end.

JB has limited range and eBay is full of counterfeits.

When recording super high quality footage you need a card capable of capturing it.

Not all Class 10's are the same.

GoPro nerds, I need some advice....

Considering there is now a Hero 3+ on the market, would that be a better option to get over the Hero 3?

I Honestly don't know how often I am going to use it, hell I bought a camera back in 2008 and have used it like 4 times.

I wouldn't bother if you won't be using it, I wouldn't bother buying a Gopro at all if you don't actively use cameras..

I bought one (hero3 +) recently for a snowboarding trip, I'll use it for surfing and occasionally I'll suction cup it to my car. I still use it for everyDAY use, it takes wicked shots in good light, however don't bother at night.

Bumpty decided on the Hero3 + over the Hero3 purely so he could say he has the best Gopro to date ;)

Cheers for the input.

I will be buying a motorcycle over the next few days so I might actually get some use out of it.

I'll see how I go, might try and borrow a mates one.

Is the Superview mode on the 3+ really worth the extra money?

I know the battery and wifi are also better though..
