ive heard only legal place to actually even use fog lights is on the princes highway!

I'm not having a go at you, but that is ridiculous. Whoever told you that has no idea what they are talking about.

Cheers,
Nik

Its illegal in NSW to drive with your fog lights on if its not foggy.

True story.

Not entirely correct, this is straight out of the road users handbook... Pg146

Fog lights

Front and rear fog lights must only be used in fog or rain, or when conditions such as smoke and dust limit your vision.

It is a legal requirement that once conditions improve and you can see more clearly, the front and rear fog lights are switched off.

If your vehicle is not fitted with fog lights you may use your headlights during the day in these adverse conditions.

Source: Road Users handbook

On another note, Ive drivin next to/past police and through RBT with my LED lights on and they havent said a word to me day or night

Hi,

RBT's are always the youngest sprouts in the game they aren't there for defecting cars driving the other way, they are there to catch DUI's.

Please refer to my direct quote from the law.

Also, how is what he said incorrect? Your quote clearly reiterates the point already made, which is that fog lights can only be used in adverse weather conditions. The inclusion of dust/rain/smoke to the previous statement is all that is necessary.

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

I promise you that it is not a geographically defined piece of law. I could entertain the idea that there is a certain area known amongst the force/public as being a 'safe zone' for driving with the fogs on - but there is no way on our lonely planet, that there is a certain section of highway that has a separate law.

Cheers,
Nik
