hope the tyre fitters dont scratch your rims

I'll be masking the lips up like there's no tomorrow. My brother did this with his rpf01 before going to Tempe. I've already let most air out of the tyres so I can get to the whole lip

Will need to wait for the paint to harden properly, i mite even give them another coat or 2 of clear just for the hell of it...

I'll be lowering it back down before fitting them up, need black wheel nuts... So far only McGard nuts are the go for OEM wheels

Why only mcgard? I use cheaper muteki nuts and theyve had no issues in 3 years? I just clean tbe threads with wd40 everytime i refit them or else the alloy tends to bind a bit (all alloy nuts will start to do this though)

And theyve never chipped the black or anything

Pretty sure i only paid $40 on ebay for open ended spline nuts?

Orginally i thought u can't use aftermarket nuts on oem rims but Mark told me that all Subaru rims have a taper like aftermarket rims

I've got some alloy d1 spec grey/aluminium finish nuts I've got on my stockies atm I'll see if they fit first... If they look funny I'll get some black or red muteki nuts

Looking at the pics of when we hit the dunes, I gotta say the black scoop looks really good! I was unsure of it at first, but it has definitly grown on me.

I agree with Matt here. Colourcoding FTMFW

Black wheels look horn too BTW

I would have waited about at least a month after the paint has dried and cured before fitting the new tyres.

Did you get Tempe to fit them?

Herpaderps scratched my rims with their rattle gun. Had to touch up mine.

Just went over this thread.

Many mods, nice work.

A couple of questions:

If you were getting new tyres, why not strip the tyres and paint before the new ones went on? (Rims usually get scratched when tyres are removed)

Do you find the White Knight products are durable enough? I have had nothing but trouble with the product. (poor coverage and when coating bare steel, rust forms through the paint)

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I will have a little play with photoshop then decide...

Thanks but It's actually metallic charcoal... Quite a nice colour, similar to Marks onyx metallic. I should have got this colour done when I got them off him

Yeh I was contemplating on whether or not I should have waited longer for the paint to cure but i though Posted Image it do now n just touch up wat I have to coz the fitters would have scratched them anyway.

I didn't get them to fit them, just tyre change, didnt want a careless mofo with a rattle near them

Thanks.

Coz Im a tight arse and didnt wanna pay the extra $80 lol :sarcastic: Trying to keep to my budget while trying to save for a house

Ive used it before but on plastic and it was pretty good but never on metal/alloy. On bare metal usually you put down some etch primer first so this could be your problem with the rust.
