Had 174kw with a full MRT Turbo back exhaust when I bought

4 years down the road 154kw with a restrictive STI muffler.

Should make more power with the slightly bigger turbo, but not after max power... Looking for Max low down torque, safe street drivabilty..

We hit a speedbump Thursday afternoon...

Car started fine until Adrian heard an exhaust leak...

Adrian did a fine job wrapping the headers with some Thermotec Volcano Wrap but unfortunately had rip it off to find the leak

12295357_10153826945528023_6734283029315

One of the culprits, flex join was cracked on the inside...

IMG_9092_zpswroisnpi.jpg

Friday, they had to come off, a what a PITA that was for Adrian...  the headers and uppipe were 1-piece... Got them off eventually, on went the MRT catless uppipe then another speedbump... My stock headers from the old donk fouled the oil filter as the oil cooler sits in a slighty different location for the early SGs and luckly he had a set of SH headers laying around that fit...

Then it was tune time late Friday night... Unfortunately I couldnt be there, my work XMAS party...

Dan did an amazing job, totally different beast! Street drivability, on and off boost! Comes on early and just keeps pulling in all gears!

The weekend after I got my car back, my indash tablet started playing up a(probably due to the heat it was copping) and my +8yrs old Clarion MAX686BT bluetooth not syncing properly with new Samsung S6 decided its time for a new headunit.

After seeing the Andriod Head Unit my brother put in his car and reading a full thread on XDA I went and bought this....

http://www.carjoying...-universal.html

7_inch_car_autoradio_android_head_unit_1

And to make things simple got a harness adaptor http://aerpro.com/app090

Since my XT has the old 4 point steering wheel no steering wheel controls. Bluetooth remotes apparently do not work but I did some intensive late night googling and found this from China. Even the brand was CARJOY. I emailed carjoying and he said it will work. For those that have steering wheel controls theres instructions of how to hook them up.

Car-Universal-Steering-Wheel-Control-Key
http://www.aliexpres...2388883182.html

Module wires into the the headunit and remote works effortlessly once synced

Even though the unit is 2DIN, I did have problems with it not fitting properly due to the actual face plate/screen being about 2mm bigger all way round.

Instead of trimming the dashpod I measured the depth of the face plate and drilled 4 new holes further back on each bracket (sorry no pic taken) for that perfect flush fit.

I made a trip to pick n payless to source a double din pocket out of an AE92-AE101 Corolla. $10 later.

20160113_203020_zpsao50gnk3.jpg

Fits a 500GB portable hard drive perfectly for all my music/video needs.

I didn't like the preloaded launcher so I'm running Nova with ease. So far no glitches to report

Over the weekend I did a small tidy up of the engine bay...

Moved the Provent 200 catchcan (connected to the PCV) to the other side of the engine bay and the smaller Gears catchcan (connected to rocker covers) to the passenger side strut tower under the strut bar (virtually hidden).

You'll also notice I got rid of the shitty OEM battery tie down that was rusted and replaced it with this Kartboy Billet Aluminum Tie Down
20160123_103249_zpsry6zsfvy.jpg

Also with all this rain around lately I had to make up a shield for my CAI since I'm not running inner guards. I tried making a custom liner from this thread but had no luck with shaping one so I went to bunnings to see what I could find... 5 mins later... $3 3L bucket... Perfect size to fit over the pod.

Got the 3" hole saw out and a bit of black paint...

20160126_103534_zpsghpzcqkc.jpg

So far no dramas sucking in any water or gettting condensation in the intake

My old grill was looking a bit trashed (one piece off a X model that didnt have the chrome strip outline) and didnt really fit that well as 2 of the mounting tabs were broken

IMG_7622_zpsjlydiuvi.jpg

So over the weekend I managed to pick up another grill for $20.

_57_zps4dr7lqgj.jpg

Seperated, cut, bogged, smoothed and painted. Went for a different 2 tone red and black look...

All back together

20160202_202337_zpsq5czvmjf.jpg

Night shot doesnt do the paint colour justice and actually matches

Hella horns need a fresh coat of paint now

I very much like the two tone look. The previous all black grille stood out a little too much I think. Nice work Chris.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

Since the Hella Tones were looking worse for wear, I decided to go for a more subtle look and go for a darker colour. Still had some White Knight Squirts Metallic Charcoal left from when I painted my old CS9s, so that came in handy...

6 coats then 4 coats of clear later. Photo doesnt do the colour justice there is quite a bit of metallic fleck in person.

20160206_154300_zpsrhizeqdf.jpg

I also gave the Subimods bracket and oil cooler a coat of satin black to freshen it up and make the horns pop out a little.

FFS!!!! People are so ***** careless!!!!

2nd time within a month to have a door open on my front guard by the same company van of another company in our complex, whats even a bigger coincidence, both happended on a Thursday! How ***** hard is it to move the ***** van out of the spot first!

Luckily I hadnt got the first hit fixed yet due to their slow insurance claim!

January Hit - Super windy day and apparently door swung open...

20160107_171046_zpsem2isapr.jpg

20160107_171038_zpszinztuwa.jpg

February Hit - Today - This is more of a scrape but clearly careless!

20160218_124231_zpslw54m6gc.jpg

20160218_124239_zpscmmjfd1k.jpg

Oh and the same van got me back in 2014 when the driver broke scraped my front/guard and broke a headlight turning to early...

When will these dumbarse learn!!!!
