welcome to Suby Club Hayden!

you got any other details on your car? pics?

where in Sydney are you going to be when your here (it's a big city with HEAPS of workshops :) )??

what's your final goal for you car? if you just want some cosmetic i'd lower it, get some mags and get a nice window tint. also ad a sports muffler for a nice exhaust tone. then you have sway bars as a good bang for buck mod. strut braces are a cheap mod and look cool if your after street cred. if you want performance you could go down the conversion path...

enjoy!

Hey Hayden.
Nice to see my sticker luring more Coffs people to the club!

These blokes know a lot more than I do, so take their advice and you'll go far.

Can't wait to see the new vehicle. Get a sticker now :)

Btw, the bloke at efi tuning or berklee exhaust is really good for exhausts, there's not really anyone in coffs for suspension and that, but keep a lookout on all the forums for parts.. Rexnet, liberty club asn, rslc etc...
While your in Sydney, talk to shaz (show us your tints) re: tint, he'll sort you out a decent Subyclub price, cheaper than anything you'll get around Coffs..
Traction tyres can sort you out with rims and tyres. Not sure if you know Ben the owner but a nice bloke, he'll get you rolling..

Sounds like a good project mate, as Aek said, lowering + subtle mag rims and a tint would suit it well. From there, possible upgrade to RS bodykit and a sport exhaust to get that beautiful boxer note.

then turb0.

the RS body kit is a mofo to find. if it's series1 then good luck finding a front bar! Series 2 front bars are pretty easy but.

Gen1's are getting on now, so if you want it as a cheap run about i guess a decent one would be alright.

if you plan on converting it with a WRX driveline, then just buy a sports muffler and get it fitted from the diff back, suspension wise wait and get some STI struts and STI pink springs.

if your gonna keep it NA and just drive it, i still would just get a cat-back exhuast, and then search the forums for some low km struts with king springs in them.

Be prepared to fix little things, the window seals dont seal properly, and bushes are usually worn, keep in mind the gen1's are 20 years old. And most of them have been more then around the block. but Happy days if you get a good cheap one.

I'm on my 3rd Gen1 wagon, my mum had a wagon and now she has a sedan and my dad had a sedan. So i guess their not too bad :drinks:

I just want to get an idea of what upgrades i can do to the brakes? I think i seen a forum somwhere that has a gen II brake upgrade to B4 brakes. Would the same calipers bolt onto the GenI?? Or is there any bigger rotors i can go? I know the B4 rotors are 294mm
Cheers

You can do heaps of upgrades to gen1 brakes. Cause their so crap!

2 pot 266mm caliper and rotors.

Found on RX libertys and older older wrx's

2 pot 294 mm calipers and rotoars of older STI's and wrx's b4 lib's GTB's

4pot 294mm calipers and rotors off MY00 WRX onwards.
Pretty sweet if your tracking the car, or planing high speed pursuits with the po-po

Theirs some gen4 brakes that are 316mm 2 pots.

Subarus are like Lego so many parts are compatable ;)

But I'd just Reccomend some 2 pot 266mm for how cheap you can get them. Depends what you wanna do with the car aswell

Thanks for the info
I think i might go the 294mm B4's
Im not going to be racing it but it might see the rare track day so it would be good to have a bit of extra security plus im looking at bigger wheels so i wanna fill the gap.
Is it hard to swap out the rears?

Just do pads and rotors on the rear. You'll need atleast 16" rims to clear the 294mm brakes :)

Theirs not much of a rear upgrade you can do I don't think.
