hey guys got a very ODD problem

ok how to explain this

car was fine when i turned it off clutch was working perfectly

went to move car next day WTF no clutch

what i mean is the car has clutch but i cant dissenguage it and its not the slave cyl and the fork arm and link is moveing as it should
can put in gear when car is off but cant start it in gear or it obvisouly moves forweds or put in gear while it is running

now to my knowledge this sounds like a throwout bearing problem ? possibley sticking ?

i really dont know and it has me stumped and i dont want to be pulling a gearbox out if it can be fixed with out doing so

btw 1992 subaru liberty/legacy ej20-g turbo engine / 5 speed box

thinking maybe i should put it up on jack stands and start it out of gear and try get it to select into a gear ? maybe it will unstick the bearing if thats the problem ?

I'd be checking the fork is attached to the throw out bearing.

Should be an inspection plate on the top of the gearbox. If you remove the TMIC, you should be able to see it.

Look in there.

Cheers,

do the above.
then undo the slave cylinder(2x14mm bolts) and reef on the fork, pushing it towards the firewall, it "should" re engage into the thrust bearing, if so re-install slave cylinder and you have, or will be near apples.

If not, there are problems, and you will be better off dropping the box, or engine out(whatever you preference, mine is engine out)

There's some nice places around south brisbane, near Beaudesert Rd. They do Performance mods, had a car in there once and it was cheap and professional.

Also SubiEvolution up at Brendale are a decent mob.

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

engine out looks harder and more time consumeing then box out cuase u got manifold/exhuast/engine mounts/wireing +

box out seems like the better option but will give the inspection plate a try and fork

its just really weird

pedal feels normal and springs back clutch . fork and arms all moveing correctly from what i can see

Where in Bris are you?

Like I said, Beaudesert Rd has a lot of Performance shops that can sell you one, or up Brendale, or Pickering St Enogerra.

Gt Tony might know some better places as well.

Even more interesting to see how one would go behind a turbo motor.

I'd be checking the fork is attached to the throw out bearing.

+1 for the above suggestion.
Remove the slave cyl, then try if you can move the fork back & forth with your hand -if so, then the fork isn't attached to the throw out bearing and your up for a big job.
Now if you can't move the fork, re-install the slave cyl, then perform clutch fluid air bleeding.
