I think you are forgiven for not making a thread on that one :P

Anyone else a fan of long way round? I want a motorbike now.

Also have an itch to go on a trip soon!

I guess nz will do in a few weeks ;)

Yeah, that would kind of suck. I suppose it's a bit good for focus though...?

Also; random question.

2000 Land Rover Disco - new battery, alternator checked OK, losing charge and losing auxiliaries....? Is there a chance that an alternator that is checked OUT of the car - could be failing in the car, due to the belts? Also, is a bad earth something that could create this havoc? Just a random.

/makeathread

Also, I am fully aware LR's are shithouse.

New Zealand is awesome, but it's like Disney World, you pay to get in, then you pay for every single ******* thing you do when you're there.

Footpath fees for walking trails aren't uncommon.

C'mon NZ. I'm walking HERE!

Srsly? Where was that? I went a few months back and didn't find it all that expensive, though we didn't do much touristy stuff!

This time we are going to queenstown for the snow, so expecting expense!

I really want to go camping actually!

I've never been.

Really, I haven't. Parents went with my sister (thanks for the invite!) and that was the ONLY bad thing they had to say about the place.

:D

I'm jelly, basically.

Turn everything off and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Grab a multimeter and set it to DC amps.
Connect multimeter between neg battery post and neg battery lead.
Read current draw. (make everything is off. eg. interior light)
Should be less than 0.1amps (100mA)
If its more, start pulling fuses till the current falls, this will identify the offending circuit.

If the alternator is shagged it can pull current from the battery when the car is off.

Not likely to be a bad earth as this increases resistance, which causes current to fall. (Ohm's law)

So there's none that can be bought from like a brewing shop?

Seems a bit odd that bottles are hard to come by, why is that?
