I wish I had even the smallest knowledge of what you do to be able to do it myself. I'd love to prep, finish and sell brake callipers for example. Where did you get all of this knowledge from Mark? All self-taught?

I know.

I'm just venting. :)

I would like to see you restore an aussie muscle to concourse level though.
Trophy winner I'd bet.

Agreed sometimes a nice Alfa from the 1960's is perfect completley stock :)

Stems from early in my driving days when I didnt know much and paid "qualified" mechanics for work only to end up with a job I wasnt happy with.

TB and IACV off the donor Outback. Taken to work, stripped and cleaned off any foreign residue inside and out and neatly removed coolant barbs. Throw them on my Outback tomorrow.

Are the manual ones different,

Or you just did it just to have some clean ones installed ?

Not that I'm unhappy with my current mechanic or those used in the past, but I am going to take a big step in your direction Mark. It's about time I take my fingers out and try and get things done myself. I'm all for doing it, I just cannot find the motivation to do it most times.

I had 3 oem grills sitting around so stripped the chrome off one, painted it in a textured black and added the Legacy badge from the Lancaster grill.

I like it.

Are you cleaning the plugs and re-taping the loom?

If you say yes, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised. :)

With regards to the grill, thumbs are up.

Agreed sometimes a nice Alfa from the 1960's is perfect completley stock :)

There is no such thing as a 'nice' Alfa, just mediocre ones. :)

Definitely cleaning all plugs with contact cleaner. Tape is all good on the loom, just needs a clean. :D

Starting the loom change on Friday, got a spare car for two weeks. At the same time wheel's go in to be painted the same white as the car and while its off the road, the Corazon s/steel diffback should get here as im getting tired of the knocking from the Gen2 sedan oem one I have fitted atm.

Rear Brembo's will be repainted in the same color as the lower of the car with white decals and fitted and I will finally get around to mocking up the mounts for the Porsche front Brembo's.

Everything out. Had to re-pin an airbag loom and plug from my auto loom into the new manual loom as its from a non airbag car. All done, but ran out of black tape..... :D

Also had to retrofit the clutch switch for the cruise control as the manual conversion was from an STi and they dont have cruise.

Corazon diff back fitted and its the best Ive had so far. Rear Brembo's going on tomorrow, Ive decided to leave them orange.
