Rattle can for paint. Parts are sandblasted, etch primed and then painted in epoxy enamel satin black.

Gave the front radial mount specs I worked out to my mate today who "should" have them machined tomorrow so I can do the final fit and offset adjustments. So front brakes should be sorted soon.

Great results for a rattle can!

Are you going to use wrinkle black for the manifold?

Years of practice and trial and error finding out what products work best.

Manifold will be the same satin black.

All alloy parts sandblasted and painted satin black and everything else stripped, cleaned and reassembled.

I pulled mine apart and sandblasted. That's as much as I did, I wish it looked anything like yours :D
Satin black is a nice touch.

Edit: How did you go about cleaning the copper wiring?

Is your knowledge on the topic open for picking?
What brand of rattle can do you find to be of the best quality? And how about best value for money?

Cheers. Spare time at work is magical.

Where do you work?

Copper wiring is coated. When removed, I just parts bathed it and cleaned it with a soft brush to get the dirt and dust off.

Happy to impart anything Ive learned. I'll have to check the can again as I cant remember the brand off the top of my head for the etch primer.

Im an industrial maintenance electrician at the Carlton United Brewery. Keeping the machines running through fault finding and fixing breakdowns. Last night, 12 hour shift, 3 breakdowns for a total of about an hours work so plenty of spare time. I get bored when there's nothing to do and the internet can only fill up so much time...... :D

Dude your work sounds like heaven! Wish I had spare time at my job, while getting paid, to fiddle with my car. AND with equipment/tools to use readily available!

:)  I should have a look at the etch primer I last used to see which brand it was. Seemed like good stuff.

What colours brand are you using?

The etch primer is proper automotive paint grade stuff I purchase from an auto paints supplier. VERY strong smelling!

The satin black is White Knight Epoxy Enamel from Bunnings. Found this to be very good paint and what Ive used on everything. Very durable.

Once etch primed and painted, I hang the items in front of an infra red heat lamp for 4 hours to cure them.

First drive of the Outback today after the loom change. Drove perfectly with the only issue being the ABS light is on. :(

I'll start fault finding it soon. Other than that, very happy.

Rims and rear brakes on.....
