I have agreed value through JustCar for $13,000, with all modifications covered, including engine conversion.

It costs me around $1100/yr. 24yrs old.

Can't wait for the big 25, so my insurance is cheaper.

Cheers,
Shazza

Hi Mate,

I work in the insurance industry and they can lower your agreed value based on the age of the car but you shouldn't be paying the same premium.

I was with AAMI but cancelled the policy, with GIO now, cheaper premium and better coverage.

Sounds like you've also been bent over and a form of spiked metal pole has been inserted into your anoos.

Got another quote from some a smaller company, carsure.

Got a quote for $550, car insured for 7800.

Was looking good until It said that my excess was well into the 3000's.

Any other recommended insurers?

i just had to renew my AAMI insurance (forgot to pay it) and while doing it all over the phone, they told me that the agreed valued had changed, and dropped from 13000 to 8000, so i got them to change it back and alter the excess, id rather pay the lump sum if/when i crash and keeping it as low as possible each year.

but im 26 with the B4 it cost me around $400per yr. i guess its partly due to i live in a low risk area.

But ive got quotes from all other places and AAMI was the cheapest, Shannons was going to charge me close to $2000.

But one thing you also have to look at is how fast the insurance company preocess the paper work, what are they like at getting your car fixed, ive heard stories where the insurance company took 3 months to get a bumper bar fixed on a Commodore (common part). and other insurance companies voiding your policy because you have a mod on the car that isnt listed ie stereo, liek haveing subs in the boot.

all these people rave on about Shannons and how they will insure anything and good they are etc, i had a Supercharged VT Commodore and i couldnt get insurance, even Shannons wouldnt touch it.

AAMI was the cheapest for my B4 too. Of course I would prefer to be with someone else, but the cost doesn't justify it. I had no trouble with them making a claim last year on my rear bumper.

I am 23, agreed is now $16,500 down from $17,500, $880, I think it was $960ish last year. Btw they agreed to that... its not what I paid for it lol.

Funnily NRMA is the most expensive for my car, however the cheapest for my mate and his WRX!

AAMI wanted $1100 for my forester and a shade over that for my Liberty (which in total is about 60% more than what I pay now with Shannons). I told them to cram it and swapped to Shannons. I’ve been extremely happy with my experiences so far.

Edit: I also had some issues claiming with AAMI a few years ago with the Sherpa, it ended up ok but there was a whole heap of stuffing around to get it sorted
