MASSIVE ambassador for the sport.

Fantastic bloke.

Huge battle with cancer for the last 3 years.

We have a huge NAB Tribute to him at work at the moment.

Jim Stynes, AFL great and co-founder of NAB community partner - The Reach Foundation - passed away this morning, aged 45.
Jim's wife Sam confirmed the AFL legend passed away at 8.20am "in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by friends and family".
NAB has been involved with The Reach Foundation since the 1990s and it is one of NABS Community Partners.
We have supported The Reach Foundation Dreamcatcher program in the past by providing four secondees to REACH since 2005 (for 12 - 18 month periods) to develop and manage the Dreamcatcher program, that supports the development of young people and provides an opportunity of 'one lucky break'.

In addition to this, hundreds of our people have taken part in employee volunteering opportunities with REACH over the years, mainly through their Hero's Days, Camps and more recently through skilled volunteering. Many NAB people have also participated in Reach's Camp Massai program, which was a life-changing experience for all.

Reach has asked us to thank their NAB supporters for their kind thoughts and words towards Jim's family and community at this time.
As of today, we will be receiving donations on behalf of The Reach Foundation to the Jim Stynes Future Fund Appeal through our branches and via Internet Banking. We are also hosting a call centre at 800 Bourke St, on behalf of The Reach Foundation, to allow their premises, the Dream Factory, to be used as a place of reflection for Reach staff and community.
