Welcome to the February edition of the GT!

Some more modern things that have happened on this day in February:
  • 2003 - Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrates during reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, killing all seven astronauts aboard.
  • 2004 - 251 people are trampled to death and 244 injured in a stampede at the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
  • 2004 - Janet Jackson's breast is exposed during the half-time show of Super Bowl XXXVIII, resulting in US broadcasters adopting a stronger adherence to FCC censorship guidelines.
  • 2004 - Super Bowl XXXVIII: New England Patriots beat Carolina Panthers, 32-29 at the Reliant Stadium MVP: Tom Brady, New England, QB.
  • 2005 - Nepal King Gyanendra exercises Coup d'état to capture the democracy becoming Chairman of the Councils of ministers.
  • 2005 - Canada introduces the Civil Marriage Act, making Canada the fourth country to sanction same-sex marriage.
  • 2009 - Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir is elected as the first female Prime Minister of Iceland, becoming the first openly gay Head of State in the modern world.
  • 2009 - Super Bowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers beat Arizona Cardinals, 27-23 at the Rayment James Stadium MVP: Santonio Holmes, Pittsburgh, WR.
  • 2012 - At least 73 people are killed in the Egyptian football riots in Port Said.
  • 2013 - The Nigerian Army bombs a Boko Haram camp, killing 18 people.
  • 2013 - 21 people are killed and 30 are wounded by a market suicide bombing in Hangu, Pakistan.
  • 2013 - 26 people are killed after a fireworks truck explodes and causes a highway to collapse in Henan, China.
  • 2013 - Zenit-3SL, a Ukranian-Russian carrier rocket, fails 40 seconds after liftoff and crashes into the Pacific Ocean.
And I'd like to wish all the females a Happy Valentine's Day when it comes round. If you don't celebrate it then good for you, at least you guys save money. :D

Let's do this!

How interesting.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

Same. I don't know whether it's just fatigue or being plain old lazy.

I didn't end up watching The Wolf of Wall Street last night. Before I knew it it was too late so I'm watching it at about lunch time today with Jess. Should be good after hearing all the reviews.

I might get out of bed today.

That's a "might", not making any promises.

I thought Janet Jackson's breast exposure would've made up for it...

Nope. The listing of hundreds of deaths kind of drowns out the fact that an old woman slipped a nip.

Anyway.

On the night of 8–9 February 1855 & one or two later nights, after a heavy snowfall in the UK, a series of hoof-like marks appeared in the snow. These footprints, most of which measured around four inches long, three inches across, between eight & sixteen inches apart & mostly in a single file, were reported from over thirty locations across Devon & a couple in Dorset. It was estimated that the total distance of the tracks amounted to between 40 and 100 miles. Houses, rivers, haystacks & other obstacles were travelled straight over, & footprints appeared on the tops of snow-covered roofs & high walls which lay in the footprints' path, as well as leading up to & exiting various drain pipes as small as four inches in diameter.
devils-footprints.jpg

The area in which the prints appeared extended from Exmouth, up to Topsham, & across the Exe Estuary to Dawlish & Teignmouth. R.H. Busk, in an article published in Notes and Queries in 1890, stated that footprints also appeared further afield, as far south as Totnes & Torquay, & that there were other reports of the prints as far away as Weymouth (Dorset) & even Lincolnshire.
There were also attendant rumours about sightings of a "devil-like figure" in the Devon area during the scare. Many townspeople armed themselves & attempted to track down the beast responsible, without success. Although there are many theories as to what caused the tracts, people of region still feel the area was visited by the Devil itself.
