Never driven a standard Commo. My uncle's CV8 Monaro was the biggest boat though. My Liberty feels like an ecobox in comparison.

It was nice knowing you shazza.

Commodores are a way better highway car than a Subaru.
Geared better for highway cruising, Softer ride, more room etc.

Why so?

Repair costs (Pymble-Umina = stone chips/dents/etc), 5000km services vs 10,000km services, 91ron fuel vs 98ron fuel, cruising rpm in the RX is +3000rpm while a Commo is much quieter, softer over bumps, safer from a crash test POV, don't chew CV/wheel bearings, cheaper tyres, etc, etc, etc...

Drive a stock Foz. Fuggin' terrible. Commos aren't Porsche-precise but they're built to a cost.

Nothing against Commodores at all. I wanted, and still do want one for the bigger engine and towing capability. I was looking at Foz's for a while too, until I saw they can't tow shit. I go to track days a lot, if I was able to tow a car, we'd have an extra for an even better weekend.

Long story short; Want Commodore, have Liberty.

Yeah Marv summed it up :D As much as people like to bag them out, they serve a purpose.

Even Jase prefers his commo for the highway > his Riberty.

I used to drive work common and falcons. Don't really like them. They were boring :P

I like my car, the expense is outweighed by the fact that I enjoy the 140km I do every day :)

But I agree with what is said also!

Certainly sounds like you've made an informed choice. Top stuff, champ.

Yeah, see my missus really doesn't care about driving enjoyment. We're both pretty much past that phase now, in fact.

This, I'm worried that when i no longer care about the drive i will get lazy and turn into one of the ever so common driving zombies that just drive and dont care who is in the way.

I don't want that :S

Nah, I drive to the station and back each day. 10km of utterly enthralling driving.

I drove a commodore about 5 mins ago, I actually get a laugh from it.. it does handle like a boat and doesn't feel all that stable but it is a VR = worn... the motor has plenty of grunt to 60 though hahaha seriously it freeking tanks it's way to about 60-70km/h.

Shitty Charade means x1 extra rego which is too expensive for what we want to spend. Plus, I live too far from racetracks for me to bother with driving there

She seems to think her car is worth 8-10k because... well, she doens't have a reason

She is a woman, it is to be expected.

But if you find a woman you should be able to sell it to her for 8-10k :P

I haven't driven any new Falcon's or Commodore's, but I've driven a new Terriorty.

6sp auto. Bloody brilliant auto and all the power you'd ever really need around town, great pick-up.
If the new Falcon and Commodore's are anything like that I think they'd be a nice daily.

I just wouldn't buy one because I like to get things that are different.
