;-) live in cairns so electric heated seats are a bit pointless (although funny when messing with the passenger who arent aware) - leather seats should have been an optional extra. The S model should have been given the auto folding side mirrors, push start ignition, auto (rain detect) wipers, auto headlights and rear fog lights (although dont know why one would need rear fog lights) instead like they offer in the Europe models. But I'm not complaining too much - as very happy with this car

I like the front and what they've done with the wheels. But I saw one yesty and I nearly puked at the back end. gross. Lights in particular, they're too small looking from the back imo, too silly square and sharp looking towards the middle of the tailgate...

Mate - to be honest with you apart from the better re-sale for highest spec model (hopefully) and the HID headlights (which aren't worth the price increase of S from the L) I thought the L might be a better option but went with the S.

However, with your mods and how your car looks I now know the L is definitely the better buy. So unless someone is hell bent on leather seats Id recommend going for the L model.

Ecactly
Why lower a XV I'd look like a Impreza
Just save your money on suspension swap and just buy a cheaper Impreza hatch
Impreza Hatch is already cheaper to buy then a XV

Isnt the whole point of the XV as a SUV crossover? The biggest mod to it from the parent car Impreza is being raised to 223mm clearance ... totally confused as to why anyone would suggest getting one lowered. Odd.

Totally agree with Sooby XV-L and sav84C

Wow, I've only seen the new sedan until today. That looks exactly like a lowered XV. Are there any real differences apart from ride height?

People would get one lowered for the same reason they lower a Forester.

The main reason would be that they never go offroad and want a tough-looking, slammed car.

A minority would do it for actual handling benefits. Ie; lower centre of gravity and better cornering through thicker sway bars and lower&firmer springs.

But I get the main idea of having an VX is for the 'lifted' factor of towering over other cars on the road. Whether or not it has practical offroad applications I can't comment on, as I know little about 4x4ing. But I imagine that anyone serious about 4x4ing would get something else.

That said, I still believe it's still better than what else is currently offered in the 'soft roader' segment of the new-car market.

People lower fozzes because there is no factory low version of the forester. It is a unique wagon that was Originally based off the impreza platform. But it looks completely different from the impreza and hence why people lower them.

Could compare this XV - Impreza situation to Outback - Liberty wagon though :)

Please delete photos from quotes they're annoying as fook cos they're 2 posts up! :)

I'm not feeling the XV.

Especially that white one.

Perhaps the charcoal suits the lines better. Perhaps the white one has too many tacky bolt ons.

They don't look like the impreza too much, as the XV has the over fender plastics. One slammed on some tasteful wheels would look interesting I think.
