I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,right off.

Dude I work with has 4 or 5 rental properties, reckons they are more of a pain than they are worth.. can make better money playing the market.

Okay, hypothetical.
Have 250k loan. Aquire 150k.
Do you,
a ) Smash off existing loan.
b ) buy a rental. using 150k as a deposit/starting block. And what price haus would you buy.
I think that would be dangerous.

If I actually had $800k.
I'd buy a place for about $350,000 and spend $50,000 renovating.
I'd buy a cheap bunga for about $250,000 and spend $50,000 renovating, then rent it out.
I'd spend around $20,000 on a decent holiday with the Mrs
I'd sell the SP20 and throw an extra $10k in for a newer car. Gen4 H6 wagon or something.
That leaves $70k remaining. With that I'd buy into some other investments and give some away to people who didn't have $800,000

If I was given $800K I wouldn't be doing anything different... It isn't a huge amount of money, it will help set you up for life but it isn't "YAY I CAN RETIRE" money. I sure as shit wouldn't be giving ANY of it to anyone else
