Just go the GenIV GT front and rears (316mm front and 290mm vented rears).

Mate you'll be ok with your standard rears. If you did decide to upgrade keep an eye out for some wrx 2 pots but they tend to be quite expensive

You current rears are single pots

Cool.. I wanted to keep the rear as standard as possible as i didnt get any parts with the half cut for the back.. I have a R180 and I have been told you need to get the hub machined to mate the standard hub with the R180 drive shafts ? So if i can just leave the whole brake thing alone thats a big upgrade i dont have to worry about.

Cheers Vice.

I agree. You will benefit more from these.Maybe you could sell the 4pots to help finance the upgrade?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I know of a set of '07 GT B brakes coming up for sale soon.

Id just fit 2 pots as you already have the matching fronts.

Gen4 GTB brakes are marginally better up front, but not in the rear, 2 pots are better. Sort of evens out.

Are dog bones needed to fit the 2 pot rears ? My plan was to have the type 3 hubs machined to accept the R180 drive shafts/bearings.. Herd this is needed ??

Cheers Vice.

Type 3??? Gen3 you mean??

Yes i believe dog bones are needed mate, the rear gen3 hubs need maching out to fit the sti bearings i think, and then i also think the driveshafts need machining too??

I have the R180 setup on my car, best bet would be to talk to Al at AMauto as hes done it a few times including on my car

Yes you will need rear adapters for 2 pots.

You have to change to R180 hubs, not just machine yours to suit the driveshafts. As your backing plates would still be R160.

$165 for rear adapters versus $$$ for a R180 conversion.

Sell four pots.

Save a little more cashish.

Buy Brembo.

Aftermarket big brake kits are for chronic masturbators with superiority complexes who like to get defect notices.
Whereas Brembos are *almost* a factory fit. Front bolt on. Rear, there are options to make fit, all ADR approved.

If you look hard enough, you can find s/h Brembos for very cost effective prices.

But Mark this is a gen3 isnt it??? therefore multilink rear end?? im still using gen3 hubs machined to take the sti bearings and shafts

R180 hubs off the likes of an sti will not fit your car....it is a gen3 isnt it??? you will need the adaptors for the 2 pots if you adapt your hubs to suit the r180
