well my initial thoughts were that i don't really like the look of them. and surely nothing on this planet is more annoying and difficult than the gear boot cover! id rather give birth than do that again :dash2:

The gear boot cover was almost easier than the centre console??? It took me a few minutes to pull it apart, and an hour to let the glue dry...then 5 mins to put it all back together again

The handbrake lever took a few goes over a couple days as the glue didnt like the heat in the car :dash2:

But its sorted now....look in my thread and check mine out....completes the centre console i reckon and gets rid of the plastic vaginal opening they use on the gen3 lol

*and finish it off by using a WRX or better yet STi lever (needs a bit of modification :walts: ) and they are designed to have a cover and the leather doesnt need to stretch so much

nup getting those little f**king c**t's that hold the boot on the underside on (the little metal rings that don't just slide of) was a piece of s**t. if there is a trick to it then i clearly wasn't aware. the instructions said not to twist them off. i broke 1 of the 8 plastic pins that they go over. gluing and putting back on was cake. centre console was easy. just 4 screws, slip over, screws back on.
and I'm not too fussed about the handbrake cover. maybe if i get around to it.
ill do everything else fist and if i feel it needs it then ill buy it.

I just used a small pair of scissors to get them off...then flattened them again with a hammer before putting them back on as the distort a bit on removal

It kinda needs that plastic ring clamped on, as the glue goes soft in the heat of a closed car and starts seperating itself

The clamp sorta holds it all together

Yeah I know, I'm hoping it can last 2 weeks without them. There is no way I want to ever have to get that off again.

no as tough as i thought. I've already chipped a bit with my fingernail next to the volume button. BUT i am going to do a matte clear coat as that was recommended to me. i didn't even know matte clear was a thing. so i will be doing that to give it a bit more toughness.
other than that, id highly recommend the stuff. all that was only 1 can of spray (not even. still more in the can) each was 2-3 coats.
also tip to anyone, if you mask off an area, take the tape off n the last coat while its still wet. it will stretch like rubber when its dry, making edges not so crisp. ill be re doing some edges due to that.

Yeah possibly, if I can find one that isn't a stupid price. Havnt properly looked yet. I took the badge off to do a carbon fiber background. Then lost the 2 little screws. I've been through every size screw at Bunnings and none fit!! Might just glue it on.

Are the gen 2 and 3 badges the same size? I think I've got a red gen 2 badge laying about somewhere
