Has more fasts than 2.5 Manual, no care. You do grow out of Manual once you own an Auto. Appreciation for the car doing the extra work for you etc. Unless Manual is an ego boost thing. I can understand an underpowered Auto would be shit. My sister had a Pulsar Auto and it was horrible to drive.

But if you are buying it because racecar, might not appreciate it.

If you are after another Subaru, maybe have a look at an Impreza RS.
They can look really good lowered with WRX wheels.
4 speed auto N/A FTL.

RS impreza's are a pretty good choice. you could always buy a $2k pulsar/rolla and save the cash for something else.

Impreza RS are ok, my mate has a peanut that he rapes on a daily basis. Can you find one for that budget though? He paid like $14k a year ago for his. They are bit 'cheaper' than the Lib's to be in, road noise is more etc. But then again, because racecar. Asking for other suggestions on a Subaru forum when there are viable Subaru options is odd. You won't find much else than isn't front wheel drive - unless you start looking back in years.

Edit: Seems you can but it will be a Bug Eye ^ if round headlights are your thing.

EDIT: i dont have a problem with road noise. only thing that bothers me is my seats get uncomfortable on a long trip, but they are racespec seats that everyone puts into libertys, gaybacks and foz's anyway/

Just some quick other ones I looked up. May or may not be good examples :P but just looking at other cars in the budget, on my lunch break. I'd drive the Mazda lol.

I know, there are other ones of those in the budget (older, or gnarly looking)... work for another month, put extra 2k toward clean skysupra. Also, most people will move about a grand on their list price.

Manual ones are so much more peppy than them!

Back on topic, Why not just buy something as a runabout and save up for racecar when off p's?

It doesn't work that way Cam.. I know that from being in his position. I'm still on my P's but everyone told me to wait and get a shitbox in the meantime and save up for a beast once I get my full license. I just wished they'd stop saying it cause I wanted a car now and wanted to be happy now, not in a year or two.

Not having a go at you of course, but it's just my opinion from going through a similar thing as Jordan has been.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

Im in a similiar situation, my 1998 bilstein liberty was rear ended and wrtten off on saturday :( i only had it for 4 weeks!!!.

A question for the OP, how long did it take for the insurance payout to come through? How did you find the process? What was the size of the payout relative to the market value of the car?
