Nice one Mark. Great choice. I don’t think enough people appreciate the what you get for your money with a Tissot. Pretty sure that watch uses an ETA F06.111 quartz which is the same as what you’ll find in the some current TAG Heuer non CAL movement Formula 1 and Aquaracers but you’d be paying at least three to five times the price for (at a minimum).

That ion-plate finish looks really sharp as well. I like :)

forking love my Tissot. Never take it off and it cops a beating at work, but still looks great.
I've been looking at getting a cheaper dress watch to wear out, but every time I think about leaving my Tissot at home I bail out of buying something else.

Sig worthy.

I've wanted a Tissot for a while now. I had a Fossil that was a good work watch, but it's dying. And now wear my Burberry day-to-day. Hoping to get a Tissot soon, will be reading this thread to find recommendations.

you might be interested/happy to know that Burberry watches are actually designed, manufactured and distributed by Fossil Inc Watches under licence (using re-branded Fossil in house movements)

Haha mad, thanks Aek. My Burberry is nice, but was a gift so not my exact first choice. Not sure if I'll go Fossil again though, current catalogue isn't my style.

I have mates and family with TAGs and really can't see the allure. Tissot seem to do it all quite well.

I've always had a soft spot for TAG Heuer watches. I don't know why.

How much do Tissot's range from? How much did you pay for yours in Switzerland if you don't mind me asking, Mark? I like the style.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

I treated myself today and picked up a new g-shock. It a G-7900A-4. I'm loving it so far.

nice one Harry. Its a hard to beat a G-Shock for a solid everyday-er.

I had a primary school flash back the other day and bought myself a swatch watch.

"Geneva watch fetches $21 million at auction

batallas-relojgraves.jpg

A gold watch billed as the most expensive and most complicated in the world fetched a record US$21.3 million when it went under the hammer in Geneva on Tuesday, the Sotheby's auction house involved said.

The sale of the Patek Philippe "Henry Graves Supercomplication", a handcrafted timepiece named after its original owner, a New York banker who ordered it in 1925, was the main event at a jewel and watch auction.

The watch, which weighs more than half a kilogram and comprises 900 separate parts, had been estimated to go for a lower amount, US$15 million.

But frenzied bidding pushed the price up higher, and the final amount paid was "a new world record," Sotheby's said.

The winning bidder, who remained anonymous, will have to fork out a total of $24 million, including the commission.

It took Patek Philippe five years to put the watch together.

Graves's name is right there on the dial.

Tim Bourne, Sotheby's worldwide head of watches, said the sale confirmed the watch's "superstar status".

Bourne called it an "icon of the 20th century, a masterpiece that elevates the discipline of watchmaking to art".

Complications included a perpetual calendar with phases and age of the moon, indication of sunrise and sunset, and a celestial chart depicting the stars in the nighttime sky over New York City.

The watch was among 368 timepieces that were up for auction on Tuesday."

Also 21MM$ for a watch is bonkers money.

Not a bad investment there.

It was originally commissioned for 60,000 Swiss Francs back in 1933

^ Thats pretty cool. they obviously miss a lot of significant moments but its a neat little summary. Nik i'm sure you noticed that Swatch features as one of the 20 pivotal moments in watch history. without it we wouldn't have the robust revival we're seeing today which is why they hold a colourful patterned spot in my heart.

Keeping with Christmas traditions i bought myself a new watch :)

Its a Rado Voyager Day Date Automatic. I've wanted a white dial Voyager for ages but when i came across this two tone jubilee bracelet, silver dial with the diamond markers i couldn't resist. Its a bit flashy for sure but real pelicans do real things #yolosweglyfe

Fun fact: Rado created a synthetic nanocrystalline diamond with a vickers hardness of 10,000HV (typical diamond is approx. 8,400HV) that is certified in the Guinness Book of World Records which they use instead of synthetic sapphire crystal like most other Swiss watch makers for their watch "glass" (sapphire crystal or aluminum oxide crystal is approx. 2,300HV which is up to 7 times more resistant than steel and considered unbreakable). Rado is hard as fork.
