I'd say around 180-190 in New Zealand (Gen3 Legacy hire car).

Not really note-worthy, but the drive from Christchurch to Queenstown certainly is! Great roads and country side over there.

Would have been a nice fine if you had been caught, seeing the national speed limit is 100km/h.

Well, the fines are optional to be paid.... :)

haha, I was careful to wait until I could see 2 or 3 kms of straight, empty road before giving it some!

Speed limiter or rev limiter?
Mine was limited to 220 for some reason, first I'd heard of it

Merc CL 63 AMG @ Eastern Creek. Goes pretty fast down the main straight. I wasn't really watching the speedo but if I had too, I could probably guess roughly what it was doing.

Funny thing is it just doesn't feel that fast haha. They're too comfy to be thrilling! Anyone whose driven one of those big proper luxo barges will know what I mean. But amazing cars nevertheless. Lots of respect, but not a lot of love...

Hi,

If it's in the past, and you got pinged, no reason to be cagey.

:D

I got a 167kmh on the highway the day I picked up my Forester from the freight yard in Perth.

These days that'd be an impound and a licence gone!

I had to go to the licencing centre (Post Office for us country boooyyeeezzzz) and get my plates changed from VIC to WA, and pay a $450'ish (?) fine for speeding. Haha. How am I alive?

Cheers,
Nik

Pinged by a u/c doing 98 in a 80 zone overtaking 2 cars at a time on bend on a single lane road.

I was in a borrowed car too with the owner sitting next to me.

Cop: "This your car?"

Me: Nope

Cop: "Whose is it?"

Me: *points* "his."

Cop: "...and you let him drive your car like this?"

Mate: "Yeah".

Cop: "Fair enough then."

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Hi.

Haha. Mine was a bit weird too.

He looked at my papers and knew I'd just picked the car up, then checked to see if anyone was inside - there wasn't, I said "I would never risk it with someone else in the car"

He asked why I was going so fast, I just said;

"I was overtaking that commodore, and took my foot off the pedal, then you came around the corner"

He simply said;

"Stop talking, it's good there's noone else in the car"

Cheers,
Nik

I went back to the future with a mate of mine named Emmett in his DMC-12, It was pretty dangerous doing $1.42 in a storm. But we did it.

Pretty awesome.

Fair play I guess.. You live and you learn. I certainly have.

I got pinned 148km in 80km zone. 14 points in one go (nsw licences only had 12 points) and was supposed to be around a 3K fine. The officer who booked me actually messed up the ticket AND booking process so I got off with a 6 month ban and a $280 fine. I still have the ticket stuck on the fridge as a daily reminder to pull my head in.
