Depends on the whether, Mine went well into may maybe even the start of June last year before they started to look a bit sickly, that is when I pruned them right back.

Oh yeah, Frost will kill them, if you have somewhere maybe indoors on a windowsill or something to keep them over winter they will survive, but if you leave them to the frost they will kick it.

my name is pretty easy, its just the same as my name on here minus the numbers (mind you vast majority of my friends dont call me by my actual name haha)

You can use permaculture tricks like heating rocks, black plastic bottle's filled with water to heat soak etc...
