Driveshafts popping out!?

Got a call from Subaru a few minutes ago, saying that because of the 18's, the driveshafts are popping out.
Can anyone explain how or why this is happening?
Car has 18's since I bought it and no problems, well none have been detected when it's been serviced or gotten new tyres/wheel alignment.
It also came with King springs and I put new KYB shocks on a bit over a year ago.
Could it be the front strut brace? I only put that on last week..
I'm quite at a loss on this one. There's plenty of Gen 3's that are lowered or on 18's or both.
So, I really have nfi.
Subaru suggested I go back to stockies, but since the car came with 18's, it's not gonna be such a quick solution.
Cheers,
Stocky

Maybe they mean the CV joints are busted?

It's costs 230 to reset my brant and change the pin after I disconnected battery. That's right. It costs so much because they have to call subari for the master code.

i have heard of the rears popping out on people before, they have no pin just a circlip from memory
but something would have to be wrong for it to happen..
So... they may have come under a lot of strain at one point and a circlip/pin/nut has come loose?
Or I've busted a CV joint..
Ah stealership. They will make up anything.. my prelude never had a problem going from 16x6.5 to 17x7
It's only there because they did Timing cover, cam and crank seals about 5 months ago and it's leaking again, so it's all getting re-done under parts warranty.
If it's any help, the car obviously went from 16x?? +55 to 18x7.5 +42 at some point and now it's changed again to 18x7.5 +55.

It might be a little more expensive, but worth it to keep the car going with the Subaru-only service history.
Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille
Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

No way would a wheel cause a driveshaft to pop out. It's not even linked to the driveshaft. The driveshaft is secured to the gear box (Via circlip or pin) it's also secured to the hub via a tightened nut, the hub is secured to the control arm, strut and steering rack.
It just doesn't make sense.
Ask them to show you

I am taking my car for a service tomorrow, first one since I bought the car in December. Was really keen on taking it to Subaru. Never heard anything negative about them... After reading this I am gonna rethink a bit. May be.

Entirely up to you. Some dealerships are crap, some are alright. I only take it too Subaru, because as I've mentioned somewhere else, my old boss moved to Subaru about the same time I quit Jaguar and he doesn't charge me for shit..
My 200k service was quoted at $2200-$2500 by several places. He only charged me $1300 for it.
I call bullshit, On the dealerships part.
I'm inclined to agree.
Wanna check it out for me?

Definitely will! Thanks for the explanation. They say "because the 18's lower it" ?? That was the best I got over the phone. Gonna have to find out more when I get in there tomorrow.

Normally wouldn't. But, mates rates and the fact that I'm getting something replaced under parts warranty.
I don't think I'll go back, mate or not.
I always service the car myself, normally.

When I need work done that I can't do myself, I take it to a trusted local mechanic who I've used for years with about a dozen different cars. They know me by name.
