As cam mentioned theres a pin that holds them in the gearbox n a nut holding them 2 the hubs..
They are telling u BS... I drove on 18s for yrs with no problems...
I would say ur cv is rooted n is popping off there and they dont know wat theyre talkin about... I had that problem when I had my stockies on

I'm at -4.5, low and mine haven't popped out.
Take your car to a suspension shop.
2002 Outback - it's gone...

I've heard of rear CV's popping out due to negative camber - but ALOT of it.

This was the only way I could think of it happening. So unless your running on the inner sidewall, i doubt it.

Nope, all stock standard.
So either it's a joke, or I've some how broken something..

The guy might be passing on info he didn't understand himself.
Otherwise sounds like a rort.

I know man, but because the previous owner has had it serviced by Subaru since he bought it brand new, I just thought I would stick with it and continue down the same track... I just spoke to my girlfriend's step sister and she said the service won't cost over $400, and that is only if they don't find anything else wrong as well. All with best oils and liquids.Garrrrry, just because they have 'Subaru' in their name, doesn't mean they know what's going on.
When I need work done that I can't do myself, I take it to a trusted local mechanic who I've used for years with about a dozen different cars. They know me by name.
Might be a bit pricey, but at least it's all genuine parts that they're using I guess. The warranty on it would be over by now (I assume) so I don't know what I'll decide. I know the blokes I used to always get serviced with have done a perfect job and I'd highly recommend them (Budget Petrol Service Centre in Petersham). I just have a thing about ensuring all parts are genuine when it comes to this car. VL and VS = whatever, go for it. Liberty = genuine.
So you too think I should get off the car's history bandwagon of always being serviced at Subaru and go for the independent service?Hi,
Screwbaru Stealership.
Cheers,
Nik

I am needing a wheel alignment and I am hearing a tapping noise coming from the front left wheel. Don't know what it is. I'll make a decision by tomorrow morning I guess. But I'm a big fan of ensuring things are genuine that's all... And log booking?

As soon as warranty is over there is no real justification to take your car back to a stealership. Just my personal opinion.

Really sorry for hijacking your topic, stocky! But it's sorta going along the same line of the subject matter.

The only things i use that aren't genuine are oil filters when running in engines.
Go to a Subaru specialist. They are usually ex-dealership guys or have been interested in Subarus from day one.
Dealership guys know the current models, Not models from 5-10 years ago. And if they do, It's only minor stuff.
If you don't feel confident servicing your own car, Don't. Pay someone that knows what they are doing

Went in today and they said that the 18's are causing negative camber ...
But, as Bobbyjimmy pointed out, it shouldn't, because his is probably worse then mine.
So I really don't know man! It feels weird to drive at the moment, but pretty sure that's just going from brand-new Euro, to 12yr old Jap.
Gonna call up Ichiban (may as well get to know these guys as I pretty much live down that way now and cbf driving to Brookvale Subaru from now on) on Tuesday and see if they have a look at it. Also, gonna take a look at the RSK seats they're selling
Any other Suspension places worth a shot in Western Sydney? As parents fly back on Sunday, so won't be back up in Ryde for a while.

Eh. Sounds like a curly one, but if half of what the boys on here say about Ichiban is true then I'm sure they can at least point you in the right direction.
I'm tits on a bull when it comes to local knowledge for the east coast, but I'm sure some of the lads on here will have an idea of where you could try.
Cheers,
Nik
