That sounds like a tops way to start the day, young Woshuwah.
Went out last night, pub, then dinner, then back to the pub. All I had was one snifter of Tallisker.
Feels proud man. Though pathetically I did get a sort of claustrophobic feeling when we went back to the pub after the feed, and the ride home was over an hour away.
Ugh!
Still. All good.

Those scallops were $50kg...'Giant QLD Scallops' they tagged them as...the 5 were $7.50, bargain.

Yeah not bad, were they nice and sweet? I'm a bit turned off by large scallops as they're often watery and a touch bitter.

They were lovely and sweet, not watery at all. These are fresh, not thawed. Canberra has a really good seafood scene...we often get the stuff from the coast the day it's caught, plus there is plenty of $$$ in Canberra so quality is high.
I rendered down some bacon fat, got it stinking hot, added the scallops and a nob of butter...which I ladelled over them as I seared the 1 side...just a quick sear on the other side then done
