Yeah i'm sure there's plenty of fine tuning to be had with the ecv to make sure it's fully shut during the primary stage.

The ecv should partially open just under 4k to prespool the secondary before changeover takes place.

Can't believe you're running 18/20psi on this thing... It must be a monster.

Mate it's a work in progress and demands constant attention to keep it running at it's best.

New VF32 needed asap.

I think the important thing to recognise is that it's daily driven.  I hate getting up at 3.30am to go to work but the trip there is awesome. 85km's of smiles.

Bit of an update.

I noticed coolant leaking from the ends of the radiator the other day.

DSC_1208_zpsc35d96c2.jpg

I was using a 1.3 bar STi radiator cap and I blame it for the damage.  Other contributing factors were obviously the summer heat, age of the radiator and sadly the way I bled the coolant system when I installed silicone hoses.

The system was full of coolant and there was some left in the funnel and I didn't want to pull out the funnel and have it go everywhere so whilst revving the engine I noticed the extra coolant would get sucked in.  I put the cap on whilst reving aaaaaaaaaaaaaand here we are. Too much pressure I guess and the STi cap wasn't allowing the excess to flow back into the reservoir bottle.

I had a spare radiator but it was from an Automatic Liberty so there was no return line plug on the top driver side and the fill cap was on top of the radiator.

Having 2 caps didn't seem like much of an issue really, just looks weird.  An extra hole would need to be drilled for the extra hose to the overflow bottle.

Not having a return outlet that connects to turbo coolant reservoir was a problem though.

My idea was to drill into the header tank through this bad boy and use it for the connection to the reservoir.......

DSC_1231_zps94006d26.jpg

So that's what I did.

I used silicone hose so it would stretch over the thicker new connection.

I also had to run a new coolant line from the turbo coolant reservoir as the metal return line that sits on top of turbo radiator didn't fit anymore because of the fill pipe on the replacement radiator.

Two return lines to the overflow bottle......

DSC_1259_zps9a80c2a3.jpg

The other line plumbed in.....

DSC_1261_zpseb8ec32d.jpg

It works fine and saved me from having to train it to work today.  Long weekend = no shops open.

Heres a few pics I found of the led parkers and numberplate lights I installed a while back......

DSC_1236_zps59622a9d.jpgDSC_1243_zps70d8ef49.jpg

I love the white light.

Painted my GT rims black Yesterday......

DSC_1227_zps4e4c5384.jpgDSC_1223_zps2509d99d.jpg

The center caps were left alone as I might paint the rims silver again when I sell them.

There's a few more updates on the way over the next few days too.

Finally!  Someone commented on my frangipani.  :D

Beautiful isn't it?

I used export satin black spray cans Zac. I didn't even mask up the tyres because no fucks given lol. Just a quick paint job to hide the horrible gold that was making me feel ill every time I looked at the car.

I'm just using up the tyres for the moment and restoring  my 18's.  I'll be selling them once the 18's are are done.  I won't get any extra cash for the tyres so may as well use them up first.

Satin black is freakin tops paint man.

I'm going to hit them with clear now. I reckon it will make the finish more on the gloss side, but the finish of satin black on it's own is awesome..... such a flat, even coloured base to work with.  It hides minor imperfections and goes on so easily.  .

Not if you clean and prepare the wheels. The satin black does fade over time and gets a grey tinge to it. The best thing to do would be clear coating them & I noticed Repco has cans of clear for wheels. Think they were around $20.

I think putting clear on them would take away from the matt/satin finish and make them more glossy.

you can get a satin clear coat, i got some from super cheap auto when i painted the rims on my liberty last year. gives you a little bit of shine but no where near the amount that a gloss does

It's been a couple months since I've updated.  I'm focusing on getting the car spot on for the Hunter cruise so there's a long list of things to do.

I love this time of year. HVC motivates me to get stuck into the car and get it looking & running as good as it's going to.

I updated the fog light surrounds from RevD to RevE. Some cutting was required for the vents in the RevE covers. I used a large cooks knife to cut the bumper. It was so easy and it cut smooth straight lines. It looks better than the pic below which is the factory cut. Looking shitty right there SUBARU! Bits hanging off and stuff... pfft.

The new covers fitted.

New plugs.

DSC_1607_zps71531e07.jpg

The old ones.....

DSC_1598_zps5e434379.jpg

These ones were in the engine when I did my conversion. This is the first time I've changed plugs since then and they have seen 45000 kms. It took about an hour and a half to do which I thought was pretty good for a first timer. They don't look too bad considering.

I was noticing some drive train movement so I swapped out the pitch mount. The old bush has a fair bit of room to move compared to the replacement.

DSC_1557_zps6117c253.jpg

Today I will be adding some more pink bits to my ever growing STi part list.  I'm such a sucker for the pink badge.

DSC_1642_zpsdd17ced0.jpg

Hopefully the backlash will be sorted after that  ;)
