I dunno... it works either way.
Maybe there's a less anal way to clean the underside of your bonnet.

I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

This
I have nothing to hide
Update time, been a while.
Lots of things have happened since my last update.
New battery installed & I was immobilised for the better part of the day.
New (Second hand) clutch master & slave (Thanks Duncan)
New Secondary intercooler pipe.
Boot spoiler cracked & was removed. Grommets in holes for now.
Legacy garnish was wired up to be in sync with the tail & brake lights.
Puppy helped.
The car was running quite rich with a strong fuel smell on start up. There was no check engine light and it had been a while since the last time I had a CEL. I plugged in a mates scanner and my front O2/afr sensor was the culprit and the CEL bulb was obviously blown....... Typical.
Changed the bulb and did the home check plug dance....
P0015
P0019
P0122
P0128
P0174
Scanner said Front O2..... Check plug codes pointed towards the temp sensor.
I found an aftermarket O2/AFR sensor on eBay which was listing the sensor to fit a B4 as well as a wrx.... 2 different part numbers, one part. So I searched the wrx part number and found a much cheaper sensor. Bursons & Subaru want over $800 for the sensor. Got the sensor for $65 but of course the plug was different.
I spliced the new sensor onto my old plug and the car was responding really well to the new sensor but the codes & CEL did not change.
A while back I got a P0128 code for the coolant temp sensor which also threw all those same codes and after it was replaced with a second hand sensor from my old motor they all disappeared.
Ghost codes. Not the actual problem but symptoms of the problem if you will.
So i assumed the Temp sensor (which had already seen over 375,000 kms) had finally shit itself & was cactus. A new sensor was installed and yet the codes stayed.
Next thing I realised was the car was overheating randomly. I flushed the radiator, replaced the coolant & thoroughly bled the system but no luck. My suspicions turned to the new temp sensor so I pulled it out and whacked the old unit in once again. No over heating but the car stinks of coolant after a long run.
My next move is to replace the thermostat and see what happens from there.
I'm a bit confused ATM and wont know for sure what's going on until I get the chance to use the scanner again.
Is it the O2 sensor?
Is it the Coolant temp sensor?
Is it both?
Is it the thermostat?
Is it a wiring short?
Have I blown a head gasket?
I hate not knowing.
On top of all this.........
my front coilovers started to make some noise.... pillow ball.
My new seats lasted all of 1 month & snapped the frame.
I snapped a seat bolt off from constantly removing and swapping seats.
My Brant is playing silly buggers and not priming the fuel pump unless you smack the dash on the passenger side.
My paint looks like shit.
Every dent & imperfection stares me in the face every time I approach the car.
I hate the GT wheels.
Someone reversed their tow ball into my front bumper.
The clutch shudder is driving me insane.
There's a vibration from the rear under load.
My passenger rear window is getting scratched from a dodgy guide pad.
and basically I feel like I've had enough of this car.
Problem is, it's running better than it has in along time with all these things still happening.
Don't know what to do. So much time, love & money invested in this beast.

Geez thats a big list. Perhaps if its running well but looks shit another reshell could be an idea?

Yeah exactly Mark.
Sadly, I think I'm done. looks like I'll be whacking in a replacement donk, ripping off all the go fast bits and returning it to as stock as I can. It's never going to be completely stock with the tune & the exhaust but that's not a bad thing.
I have a set of good billies and just bought some hella cool Tein springs for them. 2" drop will look ok.
Money........ need some.

Happy to spend some time diagnosing it and scanning it one weekend mate.
Posted 02 September 2014 - 09:43 PM
Thanks bro. I always have a beer or 6 in the fridge with your name on them.
Need a forking scanner.

Yo Boss, bring it to my work if you want. I'll get one of the techs to plug it in and have a look?
Shouldn't be a hassle.
I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Or come down to mexico and snowball can scan it

I may be down the coast next weekend 13/14th playing conversions with Luke and Morgs.
Give me a buzz around then.

Cheers Guys.
We had the same problem with my brothers gen 4. We changed the front 02 sensor to a non genuine( using part numbers from Repco) car ran perfectly we got 7.5l/100 down to Golburn and back but the CEL and code would not go away. Changed to a genuine sensor and hey presto it was fixed.
I've heard similar. The OEM one is $800.... I can get a Denso for around $180 from the UK but I don't want to spend a cent until I'm positive it's just the sensor.
As for the coolant temp sensor.... not sure what's happening there. With the old sensor back in place it's not overheating. forking weird. The new sensor might be faulty...... might try to find the receipt.

This can not happen, That white beast must be fixed !
Can someone on the coast take the crack/ice pipe of JKong, because he must be losing his mind.

If you remove to much of her Kong DNA, she will lose her identity.
