Yep it's going to be hidden! I plan to stick it more or less where it is now, but under the trim with just the volume knob poking through. If I can't make it fit then I will pull it apart and then extend the wires as you suggested but this is just so I can listen to music again for now.

This is the one I used, you can get them off of B&H for $50 shipped. You also need a OTG micro usb y-cable ($4 off ebay) and be running Timur's custom ROM which is linked earlier in the thread. At the moment I have just stuck the DAC on top of the brant keypad but after my exams I'll tidy it up and see if I can stick it under the centre console, with the volume knob sitting where the keypad was. I'll get a pic for you in an hour or so.
Can you post a link to the USB Y cable? I cant mange to find one

Depending on how much space you have around the tablet, you may need an extension for the micro usb. Apparently most of the extension cables don't have all 5 wires hooked up though, the guys on the android forum recommend these ones, but be aware they will take ages to ship.

What do you need the inverter for?
Just get one of these for charging the Nexus 7.

Which cable were you using? It sounds silly but I've seen some cheap cables that don't have enough copper in them to carry the current.

The OEM one. Might have been a data cable rather than a power cable i spose. It was a factory refresh so it only came with one cable

That should be fine then. It's some of the cheap ebay cables that aren't quite up to spec.

I am using fast charge. I have a jaycar 2.1A cigarette lighter charger and the usb y-cable I linked earlier. Make sure you enable F-I mode in Timur's Rom so you can use deep sleep.
