Has anybody had any experience with these tires? They suit my rims.

I went into K-Mart tire and auto and they gave me a brochure:

http://www.bridgesto...Y02Brochure.pdf

I ended up getting 4x Yokohama's with 80% tread for $300 fitted and $45 for a wheel alignment but I thought I'd consider these if I want brand new tires.

These were $140 each.

I have a thing for Bridgestone. I am currently on Potenza S001's (were on there since I bought the car) and they have been amazing. Awesome tyre and I'm seriously considering replacing them with the same thing. I am unsure of how much they're worth though, but they are pretty pricey considering they're at the top of the premium tyre Potenza list.

Other members that go Bridgestone also get the Potenza RE050.

Seeing as the MY-02's are in the premium performance section of the passenger tyres, I'm inclined to think that they'd be pretty good especially when making note of the price you pay for them. The site reveals some good qualities, I just haven't heard of anyone having them on their cars. Did the guys are Kmart mention how new to the market they are?

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

I like the tread pattern on the MY-02's and your S001's.

No they didn't say how new they were but the brochure was quite insightful. They told me about the MY02's cuz I didn't want to pay $185ea for Potenzas.

I like 'em too. The RE002's look nice as well. I like the sail-looking bit of the tread. But yeah, other than what I've already mentioned I couldn't be of much more help man. Seeing as their new as well, it might be a while before anyone could give you a thorough review. And one of the things I have gathered from the members here is that you get what you pay for. It's better to spend some decent dosh on tyres as that's what's keeping you in control of your vehicle, no matter what it is. It's the only thing between you and the road.

Good tyres with good brakes and your car will be a breeze. Any fluctuation in quality for either part and you wished you had paid the extra few hundred. All within reason of course, I'm not gonna tell you to go and spend a couple of grand on Brembo's now. :P

I wasn't going to budget cut that much, I was just told that they were good quality without breaking the bank.

Plus I liked the tread pattern and profile.

These are my tires:

Oh I know, just said it for your information, not accusing you of anything of course. Seems like the price you got on the Yokohama's were pretty good man. You will definitely get a fair bit of life out of them still.

I bought 4 new Kumho KU31 tyres recently. They're directional like the MY02 tyres and are good value for money. I bought my car 3 months ago with the RE001 tyres.

They set me back about $110 each including fitting from the local tyre store, not Bob Jane or any of those big tyre stores. I recommend getting an alignment from another place, a place that actually double checks their work and actually show they care. :) the AWD system needs to be aligned properly. A wheel specialist (people who deal with race cars) will charge around $100 but that extra $40 you pay is worth it.

You'll see quite a lot of sport cars with them...Anything soft like the Bridgestone RE001, etc tyres will wear out faster which is why I decided to try other brands with harder compounds. I had Falken ZE912, KU31 + Potenza RE050 tyres on my last car and they were good...

Thats a good price for KU31s! Where did you get them from?

I've run them since buying my car! (3 or 4 sets now :))

Looking at these Bridgestones, I would have bought the Yokohamas also.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

i used to run the MY01's on my MY08 hatch lasted roughly 50,000km very soft compound i found and road noise is a little on the high side if you want something that grips good im not sure if the MY02 are better but the MY01 werent the best and as for wet driving might as well use slicks not all that great either. thats just my $0.02, im now using Conti MC5 and could not fault them the biggest bonus they are directional tyres either so can rotate them to any corner of the car.
