So my forester currently has an 3inch xforce dump, 3inch xforce midpipe with one resonator, and 3inch xforce mp02 rear muffler.

Now is exhaust is stupid loud and drones like a mofo on the highway. Its only a matter for time till highway or epa get me for it.

Question is how do i fix it.

I know i can add a middle 3inch muffler in place of the resonator but will that fix it?

or

Do i replace the mp02 with something. (i have no interest in a varex)

or

both i need to do both of the above?

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

I had a very similar setup and it sounded like a motorbike was in my boot.

Exhaust shop welded a "reverse trumpet" inside the rear muffler to recirculate the sound back into the muffler. This cut down the noise significantly without impacting on flow.

Maybe look into a Hi Tech? My old one was pretty quiet and didn't drone at all.

I know what you mean about how loud it is, I have the same system but without a resonator..

The Xforce is a loud muffler and I'd highy recommend the hitech if you can find a second hand one around... I love mine :)

Is there any more room for another resonator under there? Could be another option?

I forgot to mention that the Hi Tech was good for just a diff back but was a bit raspy with a turbo back. Not sure if there was something wrong with mine or if they are all like that.

I have an mrt oval muffler on mine. (Alex can tell you about it) it's got a good note, but quiet ish on cruise. It's only got one small resonator in the rest of the system.

ive sorted my exhaust drone. purchased a stock sti muffler which has had the MSR 3 inch pipe mod done. quite like stock with no restriction and minimal if any power loss.

Nice work.
My preference is a big 3inch inlet oval muffler from my local.
Forget MRT msr etc, a nice mercury is half the price and does the same job.
