I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

I reckon you'd be ace at it as well mate.

Maybe start building up a PT business while maintaining the gardening thing until it builds enough revenue to stop the gardening?

This is the new plan :)

The gardening is a piece of piss and pays the bills. I have a customer that has a Metal fabricating business (high-end, limited run and prototype stuff for the military etc.) that I'm going to ask about doing some work experience at. I will do some welding at tafe when the next course starts and may even look into an online degree in Mechanical engineering or Industrial design.

I need to challenge my intellect more, I am stagnating.

Great plan mate.

Yeah, you should always challenge yourself otherwise your mind becomes mush.

Wow!

Big plans man... sounds good... should be tonnes of fun, or at least, very mentally stimulating... :)

It won't happen overnight, but I have the time to make it happen...I am going to chase a dream finally.

Pete, I wouldn't bother with mech eng, unless you are chasing $$??

I would do a cert4 engineering, like I am doing. It has Fitting, Turning, Milling, welding, mild calcs, possibly materials sciences and some drawing.

Would be much more valuable if you are planning on being on the tools.

Also, you don't need a degree to learn design. Working in the industry will give you a much better understanding of designing than a forking text book! You learn what works and what doesn't.

What kind of Cnc? Mill, router, lathe, dildo?

Awesome advice Adam.
Condolences Nick ;)

Ask the dude that has the fab shop aswell what sort of path he thinks you should take. I'm only talking from my limited personal experience!

Haha at the moment we have to come up with an idea and prototype it + business plan + pitch it etc, and we can CNC it or 3D print it at uni if we want. One course I haven't done yet you build remote control sailing boats. But yeah, not much actual fabrication.

:scratch_one-s_head:  no idea. When I saw it in action some dudes loaded a big slab of aluminium in a see through chamber and a whole bunch of drill bits and saws cut it up and put holes in it. Was cool

Probably going to be 3D printing it anyway

TOP SECRET. We have a shortlist but it's not decided yet. If I had my way, I would make car parts....but it's a group assignment
