Got a pretty big decision to make work wise, i finish my time mid november and im fairly sure i wont be kept on. Which is what i expected from the start.

One of dads mates is running a two week shutdown in october in tumut, and said his happy for me to jump on that, which is sweet but after them two weeks im out of a job. Its only two weeks before my time finishes anyway. So i'm finacially better of doing that. My main concern is the next potential job In lithgow. Thats 4 weeks work from mid November to just before xmas. And would almost ensure another 10 week shutdown early next year. I could live off the money i made from both jobs for a few months. Which would be awesome but i have a cruise with my two best mates booked and paid for at the start of december, and its one or the other.

Really dont wanna ditch my mates, but being a good mate doesnt pay bills and put food in your mouth and get you a job.....

Ive only talked to dad about it. And his sort of pushing me towards taking the job, so i can set myself up, but he said dont fall into the same rut he is, where he works away all the time and cant plan a holiday or your life. On saying that he not long ago ordered a VF clubsport R8 with some money he had sitting around. So if i kept up working around i know i could end up in the same position in a few years. And this is the kinda work ive wanted to do since i startes my apprenticeship


Ive only really got a day or so to make a choice,

Chase the money and work type ive wanted, or stay put and try get another job in the next 2 months?


Dont even know how to tell my mates im considering ditching the cruise :S

And i dont even know who to talk to about it.

Mark...take the Job and Career. Easy decision As for telling your mates...they're your mate's, they'll be cool with it. They will give you shit and act all pissed off and maybe even resent your choice...but that's just it, IT'S YOUR CHOICE!

 

I can clearly tell reading your above post that this is what you want to do. So do it.

Pretty sure they are all playing xbox. Honestly, if the car was in my shed now, I'd be working on it.

It really helps to not have a 'timeframe' for completion. The more I pull it apart, the less I can bare just putting it back the same. Honestly...the factory layout of a car is madness as far a weight distribution is concerned. So many things to move...so many bracket to shave. So many wires...but it's no longer scary, just inspiring. Weird...I am NOT this guy.
