Honestly it needed that update. io6 just look and functioned out of date.

I think I've decided to keep the 4 and run ios7 instead of paying $90 a month or whatever it is for the 32GB 5s.
My 12 month contract with Telstra ends this month so will grab an Aldi sim card and be set for a while

Aldi is $5 cheaper per month and you get 2GB more than Boost.
