Ha... thanks guys... is Morg the DIY king?

I was just thinking I should replace them sometime... was wondering if I needed to bleed the brakes too at the same time, or can I just replace the pads without bleeding the system.

I could just pay a Mech to do it, but just wondering how much work is involved just replacing brake pads... think I need fronts and rears done, but will have to check

Cars cost a lot of $$$, even after you buy them... LOL!

Oh well... still loving the boost now... comes on so nicely...

normally dont have to bleed the system, but it probably wouldn't hurt to replace the brake fluid if its due.

Cool... thanks... will take a look on Saturday and see how the pads are and what colour the fluid is... quite sure it was changed under 10,000ks ago, but will check anyway

HAHAHA

Easy job, Sack

Jack up car.

Take wheels off.

Undo caliper bolt.

Take out old pads

Push pistons into caliper. (G clamp)

Insert new pads.

Put caliper back on.

Put wheel back on.

Drop the car.

PUMP DA BREAKS.

@Josh - why are they killing the FJ?

Morgan, sales are not enough to keep it alive (mainly in the US).

Fair call.

Yeah. You'll feel the pedal go right to the floor. Keep pumping until you get the feel back.

Otherwise you'll end up like the Forester above ;)

Except if it was in the B4 it would have made a bigger mess of the bodywork.

Haha... ok.. will do... thanks guys... will check out the pads and fluid on the weekend and decide if I need to change both, or just the pads...

So true... but the bodywork on the B4 is already quite a mess...

If money is an issue, Just do the pads. What makes you think you need pads?

I personally would pay someone to do the fluid, becuase it seems a shit job. But As Morgan said, Pads are easy. Last time i did mine on the driveway with a spotlight in under an hour.

Nah, money isn't the issue... I just felt like doing it myself... after installing the boost gauge... which felt good, and it was good to feel the benefit of replacing that split hose....

Coolies.. if just pads, I'll do it, if fluid too, then mech... I just left the brakes a little "grindy" yesterday while driving home, but it could have been the bumpy road too... no squeeling or anything, so might be ok... but will confirm when I can see the pads in the light... LOL!

Actually, I should book in for tints this weekend... need it for summer... but priority would be brakes if they need to be replaced
