There will be a lot in the forked column, but atleast I can prioritise the thiing that need to be doen to make it a safer car to drive.  Its a bit sketchy as it is right now,

That's exactly what I've done. I asked Ben to make a list of everything that's forked, as well as prices, and I will slowly slowly go down that list to get every issue resolved.

@ Pete - yeah i gave the treated pine option about 3 seconds consideration.  I love the rustic look of the railway sleepers and the re-purposing element is appealing too.  Plus its a cheap way of doing what I need to do in the yard.

what are the dimensions?  are they the ones up by the distillery?

@ pete - that looks mint mate.  I definitely want to do something similar

Sig worthy.

I wish I had a house. I have so many things I'd love to do to it. Ideas such as these are awesome.

Alrighty, I'm off to take the dog for a walk. Elvis is such a champ...he's just been chilling with me whilst I was sick, not giving me any grief at all. For a dog that normally does about 100k's a day, that's a pretty big effort. :)

I'm not sure Brett! You've GOT a house, so you're actively getting things done. My list just keeps getting larger and larger as I think and read up on new things to do, add, etc. This idea just seems so cool, not to mention recycling is always a good thing. It's hardwood right?

ahhh the round ones.  Not sure thats what Im going for to be honest.  We've got that in a couple of places at the moment anyway.  I was thinking they were more rectangle sectioned  poles.  Cheers for the offer though.  I could have asked Muggz to load em up on his truck next time he was down there.

Oh shit, my bad. Yeah that might be true... My list consists of five or six serious and somewhat pricey things. I think it'll cost about $1,500 total to get it all done.

this is usually me Zac, but i started doing some stuff this week.  Id get up for a couple of hours, go hard in the yard to wear myself out, then have a couple of beers to hopefully drop me off to sleep in the arvo.  Didnt really work.  But i got plenty of shit done, and ive really enjoyed it.

my list starts with the catastrophic oil leak, which I suspect is a rear main seal.

fark I hope im not around for that.  I reckon he'd lose his shit in quite a spectacular fashion.  I imagine itd be a bit like Neo in the Matrix when he has all that Jujitsu and street fighting ability downloaded into him.  All of a sudden Josh would grow some coordination and unleash fury on anyone within a 100m radius.

Here's mine (I can't remember where I put the pricing list though):

  • Front timing cover needs reseal
  • Front crank seal weeping oil
  • Rock cover gasket right-hand side weeping oil, recommend both sides replaced
  • Oil cooler o-ring weeping oil
  • New tyres
  • Brake discs machined
  • New brakes (I've got them, but need my disc brakes machined before replacing them)

I think I'm done with my car for now in terms of repairs. Apart from both diffs and the paintwork.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.
