Good link, good read. I will point out that if you are planning to ride without the right gear then you are asking for trouble, I will happily spend a few grand on good gear, it's not worth the risk

Fo shizzle. Buy the best gear you can afford. I bought a Shoei helmet (~%500) and kevlar Draggin jeans (~$250) and a decent jacket (I still want a better jacket to feel safe) but it's all worthless if you are wreckless while riding. It really does make you so much more observant as a road user.

I've got through a bit of it, I will bookmark this, and the other link, looks like it's got some good advice, already I have come across a couple of things in the article I would never have thought about.

Benelli's are pretty sweet bikes for sure.

The sucky part is the 12month wait from a beginners license to your full 'big boy' license.

Don't spend an arse load of money on a learners bike it's just not worth it. (if that was your intention)

GS500 is your best bet and if you have mates (like I do) who have their full license and are willing to ride with you then you can get a big boy bike early (like I will be) and ride under their supervision.

Fark I can't wait to get my new bike.

Speaking of alcohol... I am not normally one to save it for an occasion... but this one has sat on my shelf for ages now.... Have tasted this but from another bottle and it was freaking nice.
