Thought it was about time we had a thread where Subyclubbers could come and ask questions relating to I.T. stuff and hopefully get some decent replies!

So, first question:

Should I wait for the new 4th Gen Intel 'Haswell' processors to drop in price, or am I fine with 3rd Gen 'Ivy Bridge'?

The 4th gen looks great on paper, double the capability of the 3rd gen, but there's really only about a maximum of 10% improvement between the two.

I'm looking to get a new laptop for uni and gaming (current laptop isn't bad, but I'd like an i7 with better graphics), so is it worth spending the extra $100 or so on a 4th gen i7 laptop? Or getting a 3rd gen and spending the extra coin on upgraded memory and so on?

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

The Haswell's are better for battery life and better on board graphics.

As Haz said, if its not much more, go the latest, but only if it a little bit more, if its a lot more, don't bother

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

I don't think i would buy a HP computer again, mine has been problematic in its early years.

I think i will get a (working) ASUS next.

Looks good man. HP pcs are decent enough.

Just make sure you run the PC decrapifier tool through it after you do the initial set up.

I've only ever used HP and Dell, always been fantastic computers for me..

Any other brand you'd suggest?

Haha, yeah. I just install the bare basics.

ASUS would be the better one I reckon. Sony is good but be prepared to pay for it. Also Samsung are pretty good.

Nothing really wrong with HP I guess. I just don't have anything really good or bad to say.

I'll see what Asus and Samsung have similar. I've never like the Sony's..

Samsung have some nice laptops, bit more on the expensive side however. I use Asus gear for my computers all the time and never had problems with them.

Mine too.

For the phone gurus.
When browsing on my phone I keep getting a message "maximum window limit reached" and I can't open links.
Sony Experia.

Anything I can do to change this?
