Imo, in this photo you can see lots of Gen3 likeness.

No hate from me man. I'm an automatic driver myself. I've never owned a manual, although I can drive it.

I'm an auto driver too. Owned one manual and got bored of it pretty fast lol.

Add me to the club, I drive an auto though I can drive a manual.

I got my Gen3 RX with only 79,xxx kms so auto or not, it was too good to pass up.

The way I think of it is, it just gives you more reason to have both hands wrapped around the wheel while hugging corners at speed. A little bit OT though :P

Just stumbled onto this YouTube vid.

Looks damn hot, and the creator has got skillz!

I'm still sort of in awe that Subaru haven't figured out how to do FMIC's in their setups and they persist with a TMIC. I can see it probably wouldn't be too easy given the new location of the turbo, but still, what performance cars still have a TMIC these days? Mazda 3 MPS comes to mind but that's 4-5 years old now. Even my XR5 shitter has a stock FMIC.

Subaru still trying to be tough with a bonnet scoop? Surely at some point due to pedestrian impact laws the bonnet scoop will have to go?

The Forester no longer has a scoop.

I fail to see how pedestrian impact laws would have anything to do with it though... If you're going to get hit by a car, you'll always come off second best.

+1 as above. And I don't mind the TMIC at all. Don't they provide better cooling capabilities due to being so close to the engine and having less piping to go through and what not?

There's nothing wrong with not following everyone else in going FMIC.

The shorter piping may account for slightly better response but many people report no difference in response after changing to a fmic.

+ the TMIC is actually "worse" at cooling due to being so close to the engine as it can suffer from heat soak which is why a lot of people go front mount. The downside to a FMIC is turbo lag. It's all a matter of efficiency, not just doing it for the sale of keeping up with the joneses

Ah ok. You learn something new every day. In conclusion though, I doubt Subaru would persist with it if it wasn't performing well for their engines/cars.

yeah true to a point but in the same way we all upgrade for example our tires, exhausts, brakes and swaybars, just because subaru does it OEM from factory doesn't mean it's perfect and can't be done better, upgraded or improved for better efficiency or higher performance

Oh of course not man. I'm just speaking in general terms that's all. Both have their advantages and disadvantages at the end of the day, so it's more a matter of personal preference.
