What is with the Germans and skiing accidents of late.
President Barack Obama congratulated Merkel on forming a new government last month and wished her a speedy recovery from a recent skiing accident.

Hey guys, I was wondering, where should I get some auto tools from and what brands should I get?

I have some stuff at home, but not good quality and I can't find half of them most of the time, so I was looking for possibly a full set of relatively good quality stuff. Something that should last me a while...

Budget would probably be under $300 maybe?

OH sweet Jesus here we go.

:D

When you say 'tools' what do you mean... what tools are you after?

eg.
3/8 drive socket set
1/2 drive socket set
spanners
pliers
breaker bar
Side cutters
Punch set
Hammers
Pry bars

etc etc.

Seriously though someone told me the other day that Costco has Craftsman sets. For what you need it for, I can't see any point in going more expensive than that.

But for $300 he could get a couple of things that would help him get by one small jobs.... they won't be in a tool box though.

Haha, he can either buy an empty tool box, or a few tools that wish they had a box to go in.

Pretty true too Nikko, as much as I prefer to buy decent quality tools for myself as I do a bit of mucking around, I don't even go all out... My stuff is basically made up of Kinchrome, Sidchrome and Repco - I personally prefer the Repco stuff to the other two brands I have as its decent quality, life time warranty and good value for money. None of those brands are top shelf though they do the job more than adequately.

For what I picture Zac doing, I would suggest a basic set for now.

Zac, something like this would probably even get you by - Dad's apprentice has a set of SP tools (the big set - not like this one :P) and they seem decent enough to use when I was mucking about with them last week.
