Hey guys, I was wondering, where should I get some auto tools from and what brands should I get?

I have some stuff at home, but not good quality and I can't find half of them most of the time, so I was looking for possibly a full set of relatively good quality stuff. Something that should last me a while...

Budget would probably be under $300 maybe?

The crescent set i bought about 8 years ago has served me well. Seems to be decent quality ( others with more experience feel free to chime in here if im wrong). I think it cost me about $200

Sig worthy.

I would probably be more inclined to go for the Crescents in your situation Zac Zac - take a look at the link I posted up above, You are getting a decent amount of tools for the money - more so than the SP tools that I posted, though the Crescents wont be up to the same quality as the SP's, you don't really need it... and as far as Stanley goes, I try to avoid them.

Brett reckons that his Crescents have been good for him... so I see no issue in saying check them out.

The best thing he can do for all involved is to head out TONIGHT and buy them.

Haha... thanks for the help guys... yeah I don't need something too crazy good, and yeah I didn't think I'd get great quality stuff for the money, but yeah, for simple car things, it would be good to have a fairly decent set...

Even changing the headlights the other day, I had to hunt for the right socket attachment...

But anyway yeah... if I have time after work this evening, I will pick something up or else, on the weekend... not 2016, this weekend at the latest...

Thanks again for the links, I am looking into them now. :)

Zac, buy a few things to get you started. Screw drivers, spanners (ratchet and non-ratchet), breaker bar, socket set, pliers, proper hydraulic jack and jack stands etc.

Then as you work on your car, you will need new things to do certain jobs. Eg, massive effoff socket to get the hub nut off. When you need it, go out and buy it.

That’s how I did it anyway. Started with the basics then bought more specific things as I needed them. Now I have filled a whole wall of garage with tools and stuff. If any of my mates need to do something car related, they always come over to my place because they know I have all the right tools for the job :)

Only the back patio and driveway out the front left to gerni. Putting off the driveway until I get my oil leak sorted though because I think the buil up of grime on there is actually stopping it from staining ATM :)

I think I might go grab one of those peg board things today actually.

Hahahahahahahaha

They were arguing about space aliens in the morning. McCarthy left the house, then returned and went into her bedroom.
She came out of the bedroom wearing lingerie with a silver handgun inserted into her vagina.
McCarthy started to have intercourse with the gun and said "Who is crazy, you or me?", then pulled the gun out of her vagina and pointed it at her boyfriend's head, the boyfriend told police.

Thanks Morg,

Yeah just looking for a pretty basic set for now... quality would be nice... just enough to do basic stuff with... and if I need more stuff, I'll get them... but would be nice to have something that lasts...
