2 reasons.

1) You can't get W7 any more
2) W8 is actually good. You can turn off the 'metro' screen almost completely and once you learn how M$ want you to do things it's actually quite good.

I think the improvements between w7 and w8 aren't as significant as wxp to w7, but it's still a better os.

Nope, it's still shit. I used it again last week to help and family friend with an issue. It's so damn confusing even to do the littlest of things.

Yeah I guess you are right there... but when win7 came out, I was one of those people who said XP who? Guess I need more exposure to win8... but playing in servers and win7 at work... and no move to win8 in the near future... because like you said, the improvements aren't significant enough.. I guess it was more of an OS to link the mobile devices to the desktop in a way...
